413) Forty two acres which said Lands were left to the aforesaid Sarah Chew by the last will and Testament of her Father Doc.r William Lock reference to said Will being had will more fully appear also all other Lands which the said Sarah Chew may have any right or Title to by Virtue of the aforesaid Will To have and To hold the aforesaid Tracts or parcels of Land with their appurtenances unto him the said Lock Chew his Heirs and Assigns forever and to and for no other use intent or meaning whatever and the said Sarah Chew for herself and her Heirs doth covenant and agree to and with the said Lock Chew and his Heirs that she the said Sarah Chew and her Heirs the Lands and premises aforesaid unto him the said Lock Chew and his Heirs will by these presents ^forever^ warrant and forever defend against all manner of persons whatever claiming by from or under her or them In Witness whereof the said Sarah Chew hath hereunto set her hand and affixed her Seal the day and year above written Signed Sealed and Delivered in presence of Sarah Chew (seal) Sam Harrison Richard Harrison On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus endorsed Viz Ann Arundel Co.y fs.t Received of the within named Lock Chew the sum of Five hundred pounds specie it being the Consideration within mentioned given under my hand this 20.th day of April 1785 Testis Sam Harrison Sarah Chew Richard Harrison Ann Arundel Co.y fs.t The day and year within written came the within named Sarah Chew before us two Justices for the County af.d and acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be her act and Deed and the Lands and premisses within mentioned to be the right and Estate of the within named Lock Chew his Heirs and assigns forever according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the Act of Assembly in such case made and provided Sam Harrison 5 sides Richard Harrison Recorded the 12.th September 1785 Exam.d & delivered This Indenture made the thirtieth Day of July in the Year of our Lord one thousand ^seven hundred^ and eighty five Between John Steinmetz and William Bell of the City of Philadelphia in the State of Pensylvania Merchants of the one part and Thomas Hewitt of Bladensburgh in Prince Georges County in the State of Maryland Esquire of the other part Whereas by Indenture bearing date the Twelfth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty three made Between Richard Ponsonby of Bladensburgh aforesaid Merchant of the one part and the said John Steinmetz and William Bell of the other part He the said Richard Ponsonby for securing the payment of seven hundred and thirty two thousand pounds weight of Merchantable Inspected Crop Tobacco unto John Steinmetz and William Bell their Executors Administrators or assigns did grant and confirm (Inter alia) unto the said John Steinmetz and William Beall & to their Heirs and assigns forever (a) |
