409 reasonable request and at the charge of the said John Eager Howard his heirs or assigns make do acknowledge and Execute or procure to be made done Acknowledged and executed all and every Conveyance Act Deed and Assurance in the law whatsoever for the further and more effectual Granting conveying and assuring the said premises herein before described with the appurtenances unto the said John Eager Howard his Heirs and Assigns to his and their use which shall by the said John Eager Howard his Heirs or Assigns or his or their council in the Law be advised or required In Witness whereof the said Edward Dorsey son of John hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first within written Signed sealed and Ed.w Dorsey Son of John (seal) Delivered in presence of R Ridgely W.m Grahame On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus endorsed Viz.t Received on the day and year first within written of the within named John Eager Howard the sum of Three thousand two hundred and thirty eight pounds Current Money in full of the Consideration Money within expressed to be by him ^said^ to me Witness Ed.w Dorsey Son of John R Ridgely W.m Grahame Baltimore County to wit On the fourth day of May 1785 came before us the subscribers two of the Justices assigned to keep the peace in and for the said County the within named Edward Dorsey Son of John who acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be his Act and Deed and the premises thereby conveyed to be the right and Estate of the said John Eager Howard therein named at the same time came Betty wife of the said Edward who being by us privately examined apart from and out of the Hearing of her said Husband relinquished all her right of dower to the within Lands and premises and declared that she did the same freely and voluntarily without being induced thereto by Fear of or threats of Ill usage from her said Husband or through fear of his displeasure certified before Geo Gould Presbury 11 sides Recorded the 2.nd September 1785 Lyde Goodwin Deliv.d This Indenture made this Sixteenth day of August Anno Domini one Thousand seven hundred and Eighty five Between Robert Long of Baltimore County Farmer of the one part and Charles Wallace and John Muir of the City of Annapolis Merchants and Isaac Harris of the said City Black Smith of the other part Witnesseth that the said Robert Long for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand pounds Current Money of Maryland to him in hand paid by the said Charles Wallace John Muir and Isaac Harris at and before the sealing and Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said Robert Long doth hereby acknowledge (and) |
