400) At the Foot and on the Back of the aforegoing Letter of Attorney was thus Written to wit Then came William Young before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace for Baltimore County and made Oath that he saw the above Named Daniel Cheston execute the above Power of Attorney in presence of Thomas Langton and himself who both signed the same as Witnesses Sworn to this thirteenth day of June Tho Russell Baltimore County to wit I hereby Certify that Thomas Russell Gentleman before whom the within Deposition was taken and who hath thereto Subscribed his Name was at the time of Signing and taking thereof one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid and to all Certificates by him given as such due faith and credit is and ought to be given as well in Courts of Justice as thereout In Testimony whereof i have hereto set my Hand and seal of The County my office this thirteenth day of June Seventeen hundred and Seal Eighty five William Gibson Clk B Coty Recorded this 19.th day of July 1785 Know all Men by these Presents Whereas I William Young of Baltimore County obtained Judgment in the General Court for the Western Shore at October Term in the year one thousand seven hundred and Eighty four against a certain Charles Williamson and James Stone for as well the sum of thirty eight thousand Pounds one hundred and sixty Pounds of Nett Crop Tobacco Debt as the sum of Eight hundred and four Pounds of Tobacco for my Costs of Suit And Whereas I have received of James Stones Security for the said Charles Williamson the sum of four hundred and two Pounds Six Shillings and six pence Current Money in satisfaction of the said Judgment That I the said William Young in Consideration of the said Sum of four hundred and two Pounds Six Shillings and six pence Current Money to me paid by the said James Stone in discharge of the said Judgment obtained against him as Security of the said Charles Williamson Have Assigned and by these presents Do Assigns unto the said James Stone his Executors and Administrators the Judgment aforesaid and all benefit and advantage thereof so that he may Issue Execution thereon against the said Charles Williamson in his own Name Agreeably to the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided Witness my Hand and Seal this twentieth day of July one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty five W.m Young by (Seal) Signed Sealed and delivered in the R.d Ridgely his Att.y presence of It is Agreed by the Parties that the above Assignment in Case of the Insolvency of the said Charles Williamson or Nonpayment of the said ^Debt^ shall not in a Degree make the said William Young answerable for any part of said Debt W.m Graham Recorded this 20.th day of July 1785 |
