       Know all Men by these Presents That I Daniel Cheston late of
       the Kingdom of Great Brittain but now of Baltimore Town in the State of Maryland Merchant
       Sold Assignee ^legally^ Chosen of the Estate and Effects of William Stephenson late of the City of Bristol
       in the Kingdom of Great Brittain but now of Kent County in the said State Merchant
       under and by Virtue of a Commission of Bankrupt which hath been sometime since
       awarded and Issued forth against him the said William Stephenson  Have made
       Ordained Constituted Authorized and Appointed and by these Presents Do make
       Ordain Constitute Authorize and Appoint James Cheston of Ann Arundel County in
       the State of Maryland Merchant to be my true and lawful Attorney for me and in my
       Name and to and for my use (as Sole Assignee ^as^ aforesaid) to Ask Demand Sue for
       recover and receive of and from all and every Person and Persons whatsoever in the
       State of Maryland whom it doth shall or may Concern his her and their and
       each and every of their Heirs Executors and Administrators every Debt and Debts
       dues Sum and Sums of Money Accounts Current Accounts of Sales Accounts Stated
       Writings Papers and Effects whatsoever which now is or are or hereafter shall
       or may be due owing coming payable or belonging to me (as Sole Assignee as
       aforesaid) of the Estate and Effects of the said William Stephenson upon any Account
       Score or Reckoning whatsoever  And for me and in my Name (as Sole Assignee as
       aforesaid) to Settle Liquidate Ballance Inspect into State and fully and finally
       Adjust and if need be refer or Submit to Referrence or Arbitration all or any
       Accounts Reckonings or Disputes touching the Premises or in any wise relating to the
       Estate of Effects of the said William Stephenson and in Case of Non Payment Non
       Delivery or in default of giving or making Satisfaction in the Premises to my said Attorney
       for me and in my Name (as Sole Assignee as aforesaid) to Sue Arrest Imprison Implead
       Attach and Prosecute all or any of the Person or Persons as aforesaid or his their or
       any of their Estate or Estates either real or personal for the recovery or obtaining the
       same or any part thereof and to proceed to Judgment and Execution of such Suit or
       Suits according to the Laws and Customs of the State of Maryland  And also to Compound
       and ^or^ make Composition by accepting a part for the whole as to my said Attorney
       shall seem most for the advantage of the said Bankrupts Estate And on non payment
       delivery or Satisfaction made to my said attorney in the Premises for me and in my
       Name (as Sole Assignee as aforesaid) to make Seal and Execute all such proper Receipts
       Releases and Acquittances and other Discharges as the Nature of the Case or respective
       Cases may or shall require and to Acknowledge Satisfaction on Record or otherwise
       And me Attorney or more under my said Attorney for all or any of the purposes aforesaid
       with the like or less powers than are hereby given from time to time to make and Substitute
       and the same at pleasure to Revoke  And Generally to do perform and
       Execute all and every such further and other lawful and reasonable Acts Matters
       Devices and things whatsoever as shall be Needful or Expedient to be done and performed
       in and about the Premises respectively and that as fully and Effectually to all
       intents and purposes as I my self might or could do if I was personally present
       Giving and by these presents granting unto my said attorney his Substitute and
       Substitutes my full and lawfull power and Authority in the Premises and all and
       whatsoever my said Attorney his Substitute or Substitutes or any or either of them shall
       lawfully do or cause to be done in and about the Premises by Virtue of these Presents ^I do hereby Allow own Ratifye and Confirm^
       In Witness whereof I the said Daniel Cheston have hereunto Set my Hand and Seal this
       twenty Seconds day of April in the year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and Eighty five
