(383 Ex.d & Del.d This Indenture made this Ninth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty four Between John Thomas of the County of Montgomery in Maryland and Thomas Pleasants of the County of Goochland in Virginia of the other part Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of the Sum of Ten thousand Pounds Current Money of Maryland in hand paid before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said John Thomas doth hereby acknowledge and thereof doth fully Acquit and discharge the said Thomas Pleasants his Heirs Executors and Administrators Hath granted bargained Sold Aliened Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these Presents Doth grant bargain Sell Enfeoff and Confirm unto the said Thomas Pleasants his Heirs and Assigns for Ever All That Estate and several Tracts or Parcells of Land lying and being in the aforesaid County's of Montgomery Ann Arundel and other adjacent Counties in Maryland and formerly convey'd to the said John Thomas by the said Thomas Pleasants and Elizabeth his wife by Deed of Bargain and Sale bearing date the eighth day of of this present Month including the Land and Plantation whereof Edward Penn now lives the Land and Plantation whereon Edward Perry now lives the Land and Plantation whereas Nicholas Bozwell now lives and the Land and Plantation adjoining George Darby and now under Rent to him together with Lands and Tenements formerly the property of James Brooke dec.d and by him together with the above mentioned several Tracts bequeathed unto the said Elizabeth Pleasants by his last will and Testament bearing date the thirteenth day of February one thousand seven hundred and seventy and order'd to be laid off as allotted her from other part or parts of his Estate by Richard Thomas his Trustee and Francis Deakins his Surveyor all which by having recourse to the said will and Deed will more fully appear with all woods ways waters and water Courses Houses Out Houses Edifices and Buildings Yards Gardens Orchards Comodities Herridataments and Appurtenances thereto being or thereunto belonging together with all Deeds Evidences and writings touching or in any wise concerning the same To Have and To Hold all and singular the hereby sold Premises with the appurtenances unto the said Thomas Pleasants his Heirs and Assigns to the only proper use and behooff of him the said Thomas Pleasants his Heirs and Assigns for Ever And the said John Thomas for himself his Heirs Executors and Administrators doth Covenant to and with the said Thomas Pleasants and his Heirs All and singular the hereby granted premises together with the appurtenances unto the said Thomas Pleasants his Heirs and assigns against the Claim and demand of him the said John THomas his Heirs Executors and Administrators and against the Claim and demand of all and every other person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to Claim the same or any part or parcell thereof shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents In Witness whereof the said John Thomas hath hereunto set his Hand and Affixed his Seal the day and year first above Written Sealed and delivered in the presence of John Thomas (Seal) Edw.d Burgess Joseph Wilson On the back of the foregoing Deed It was thus Written Viz.t Received the Ninth day of December 1784 of Thomas Pleasent the just and full sum of ten thousand pounds Current Money in full Consideration for the within mentioned Lands and premises John Thomas Witness Edw.d Burgess Joseph Wilson Montgomery |
