357 Pennsylvania fs (Seal) This fourteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five personally appeared before me the Honorable Thomas McKean Esquire Chief Justice of the State of Pennsylvania Clement Biddle and John Biddle and acknowledged the foregoing written Indenture to be their Act & Deed and desired that the same may be recorded as such In testimony whereof the said Chief Justice hath hereunto set his hand and Seal the same day and year abovesaid Tho.s M Kean Recorded in the office for Recording of Deeds &c.a for the City and County of Philadep.a in Deed Book N.o 18 page 189 &c.a Witness my Hand and Seal of office the 14.th March 6½ A D 1785 Math.a Irwin Record (SEAL) Maryland On the 8 day of April 1785 William Burrel Magruder appeared before the Subscriber one of the Judges of the General Court and by Virtue of A Power of attorney executed to him by John Biddle and Clement Biddle on the 14.th of March 1785 Acknowledged the within instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed A C Hanson State of Maryland Montgomery County to Wit On the 18.th day of March 1785 Came James MacCubbin Lingen and William Burrell Magruder before us two of the Justices of the County aforesaid and by Virtue of a Power of Attorney from John Biddle and Clement Biddle of Philadelphia Dated the 14.th day of March 1785 which was this day Proved before us by John White one of the Witnesses thereto and acknowledged the within Deed of Trust as their Act and Deed so far as they are Empowered and all and singular the Hereditaments Real estate Houses Lands and Tenements and all other Property therein mentioned both real and Personal to be the right Title Property and Estate of the within named William Pollard Charles Pettit James Crawford Jacob Spicer and John Barclay for the uses and Purposes therein mentioned according to the true intent and meaning thereof Acknowledged before us Exa.d Richard Thompson Recorded 9.th April 1785 George Beall Del.d This Indenture made this Fifth day of February one thousand seven Hundred and Eighty five Between William Chew of Calvert County in the State of Maryland Planter of the one part and John Weems of Calvert County Gentleman of the other part Witnesseth that the said William Chew for and in consideration of Five shillings Sterling Money by him the said John Weems of Calvert in hand paid before the sealing (and) |
