354 or either of them and then and there in due form of Law to Acknowledge one Certain Writing signed by the said John Biddle and Clement Biddle bearing Date the twenty Eighth day of January last Past purporting to be an Assignment of All the Estate real and Personal Whatsoever and Wheresoever of them the said John & Clement Biddle and their Partners to William Pollard Charles Pettit James Crawford Jacob Spicer & John Barclay and their Heirs in trust for Certain Purposes in the said Writing contained and one certain other writing Indented bearing Date the first day of this Instant March made between the said Clement Biddle & Rebekah his Wife & the said John Biddle of the one part and the said Trustees of the other Part (which said two several Writings are herewith Transmitted to their said Attornies) to be the several and Respective Acts & Deeds of them the Said John & Clement Biddle and of each of them to the end and intent that the same two several Writings may be Enrolled and recorded in the Proper Offices of the said States of Maryland & Virginia and in each & every of the Counties Thereof wherein any of the Property thereby Assigned & Intended to be assigned shall be Giving and hereby Granting to the said Attornies & to each of them jointly & severally their full and Whole Powers and Authorities in the Premisses and hereby Declaring such procuratorial Acknowledgment to be as full effectual and available in The Law as if the same were Made by the said Constituents in their Proper Persons In Witness whereof the said John Biddle & Clement Biddle have to these Presents set their Hands and Seals this fourteenth Day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five Sealed & delivered in John Biddle (seal) the Presence of Us Clement Biddle (seal) John White Rob.t Gilchrest State of Maryland Montgomery County Viz.t On the eighteenth Day of March 1785 came John White before us two of the Magistrates of the County aforesaid and being duly sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God deposed and Sworn that he was present and Saw the within and above Power of Attorney duly Signed Sealed and delivered by the said John Biddle & Clement Biddle and that he signed the same as a Witness at their request and that Robert Gilchrist |
