       Maryland On the eight day of April seventeen hundred and Eighty five William
       Burrel Magruder one of the Attornies for John Biddle and Clement Biddle the Granters
       mentioned in the above Deed;  Appeared before the Subscriber one of the Judges of the
       General Court and Acknowledged the Deed to be the Act and Deed of the said John
       Biddle and Clement Biddle

       State of Maryland Montgomery County to Wit   On the Eighteenth day of March
       1785  Came James Maccubbin Lingan and William Burrel Magruder before Us Two
       of the Justices of the County aforesaid and by virtue of a Power of Attorney from John
       Biddle and Clement Biddle of Philadelphia Dated the 14.th day of March 1785
       which was this Day proved before us by John White one of the Witnesses thereto
       and acknowledged the Within Deed of Trust as their Act and Deed so far as they
       are Empowered and all and Singular the Hereditaments real Estate Houses
       Lands and Tenements and all other Property therein mentioned both Real and
       Personal to be their right Title Property and Estate of the within Named
       William Pollard Charles Pettit James Crawford Jacob Spicer and John Barclay
       for the uses and Purposes therein Mentioned According to the true intent and
       Meaning Thereof

       appoint and in their and Each of ^their^ Place and Stead put James Macubbin
       Lingan Merchant & William Burrel Magruder both of George Town in the
       County of Montgomery & State of Maryland               And Each & every of them
       Jointly and Severally their & each of their & each of their Attorneys & Attorney for
       them and Each of them to Appear before any Court or Courts Justices
       Majistrates & Jurisdictions within the State of Maryland & Virginia
