       and Referred to in and by the said Affadavit to be hereunto also annexed
Lord Mayor   Dated in London the twenty third day of April in the year of
       of            Our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty four
the City of London

    London to Wit
           John Stanner of the Parish of S.t Marys Newington in the County of Surry
       Gentleman late Clerk to Stephen West and John Hobson late of London Merchants
       trading under the Firm of West and Hobson Maketh Oath that in the year
       one Thousand Seven hundred and seventy eight he being then in the Service of
       the said Mess.rs West and Hobson and there being accounts depending between
       them and James Davidson of Fish Sheet Hill London Nett and line Maker the
       same was settled and Ballanced by them on the Month of February in the ^said^ year
       one Thousand seven hundred and seventy Eight and there being then Due
       by the said West and Hobson to the said James Davidson the Sum of Two
       hundred Pounds of Ballance of account the said James Davidson drew
       a Bill of Ex^c^hange on the said West and Hobson dated the 10.th Feb 1778 for the
       Said Sum of two hundred Pounds payable to his own order three Months
       after Date which Bill of Exchange the said Mess.rs West and Hobson
       accepted as Appears by the Said original Bill of Exchange hereunto
       annexed and this Deponent saith that the Acceptance of the said
       Bill of Exchange is of the Proper hand Writing of the said John Hobson above
       mentioned  And this Deponent further saith that he was Presented
       did see the said James Davidson sign seal and as his Act and Deed in
       due form of Law Execute and deliver the original Procuration or Letter of
       Attorney hereunto Annexed bearing Date the Twenty first day of April  
       instant and made to Benjamin Stoddart and Gabriel Duvall of Annapolis
       in the Province of Maryland in North America Esquires to and for the
       uses and Purposes therein mentioned and that thereupon he this Deponant
       together with David Guilloneau did sett and Subscribe their Names as Witness
       tot eh execution of the said Procuration or Letter of Attorney as thereby doth
       and may appear
