       and to hold the same to him the said Gerard Davis his heirs and Assigns
       to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Gerard Davis his heirs and assigns
       for ever and to or for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever and the said William
       Aldridge for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators  Doth hereby covenant
       grant and agree to and with the said Gerard Davis his heirs and assigns that he the
       said William Aldridge and his heirs the said part of a Tract of Land above mentioned
       with its appurtenances to him the said Gerard Davis his heirs and assigns from
       and against the said William Aldridge his heirs and all persons claiming by from or
       under him them or any of them shall and will warrant and for ever hereafter defend
       In Witness whareof the parties first above mentioned hath hereunto Set his
       hand and affixed his Seal the day and year first above written
       Signed sealed and delivered in the               Will.m Aldridge  (seal)

       On the back of the aforegoing last deed was thus written to wit

       Received the 16 day of December 1782 of Gerard Davis the sum of one
       hundred and ninety nine pounds Current money being the consideration      £199  0  0
       Money within mentioned to be by him paid me

       On the sixteenth day of December 1782 came before us two of the Justices for Frederick
       County Court the within named William Aldridge and acknowledged the within Instrument
       of writing to be his act and deed and the Lands and appurtenances within mentioned
       to be conveyed to be the right and estate of the within mentioned Gerard Davis his heirs
       and assigns forever according to the true intent and meaning of the within Deed

           Acknowledged before  George Scott  Jacob Young

           Maryland Frederick County to wit  I hereby certify that George Scott and Jacob
       Young Esquires before whom the acknowledgment of the within Deed was made and who
       have thereto subscribed their names were at the time of their subscribers the same two of the
       Justices of the peace in and for the County aforesaid lawfully authorized assigned sworn & so forth
       to whose acres due Faith & Credit is and ought to be given in Courts of Justice and thereout
                                     In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the
             (Seal)               publick Seal of said County this Sixteenth day of December Seventeen
                                     hundred and eighty two
