262 This Indenture made the tenth Day of November in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred and eighty four Between Henry May of Ann Arundel County in the State of Maryland of the one part and James West of the City of Annapolis in the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Henry May for and in Consideration of the sum of twelve hundred Pounds Current Money to him in hand paid by the said James West before the ensealing and Delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge and therefrom accquit and Discharge the said James West his Heirs Executors and Administrators and every of them by these presents Hath given granted Bargained sold aliened released enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell alien releas enfeoff and confirm unto him the said James West his Heirs and Assigns all that Part of a Tract or Parcel of Land called Bessington lying and being in Ann Arundel County aforesaid formerly Purchased by the said Henry may from Samuel Watkins and Robert Smith and whereon the said Henry May now liveth together with all and singular the houses outhouses Edifices buildings Gardens ways waters water Courses Comodities Previledges and Advantages to the said Parcel of Land hereby Granted bargained and sold or intended so to be belonging or in any wise Appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents Issues and Profits thereof and of every Part and Parcel thereof and also the following Negroes goods and Chattels that is to say One Negro man named Orris One Negro man named Ediborough one Negro man named Simon one negro man named Will one Negro woman named Page one Negro woman named Hannah one Negro Boy named Sam one Negro Girl named Margaret three feather beds and furniture one desk three tables one chair one Gun one Bottle case one tea kettle and on stand two Spinning Wheels eleven horses consisting of five Geldings five Mares and one Colt fourteen head of Black Cattle fifteen pewter Plates two dishes two Casons one Pair of Steel Yards two Black smiths bellows two Anvils one beak Iron and Stake four harnaners four pairs of tongs and a Smiths Vice and Also all the Estate right title Interest use trust Profit Property Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said Henry May of into and out of the said Part of a tract of land Called Bessington Negroes goods and Chattels hereby Granted bargained and Sold or Intended so to be with the Appurtenances and of into and out of every Part and Pacel thereof To have and to Hold the said Parcel of Land Negroes goods and Chattels hereby granted bargained and sold or intended so to be and premises with the Appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof to him the said James West his heirs and Assigns to the only Proper use and Behoof of him the said James West his Heirs and Assigns for ever Provided Always and these Presents are upon this Condition that if the said Henry May his Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns shall and do well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said James West his Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns the aforesaid sum of twelve hundred Pounds Current Money with Legal Interest thereon at or before the Sixteenth Day of March which will be in the Year of our Lord seventeen hundred and Eighty five (without) |
