       Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred & eighty four Personally Appeared Ja.s Clarke
       & Tho.s Brereton both of Baltimore County before us the subscribers two Justices of the Peace for said County
       and being duly Sworn on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God  Deposeth and saith that they are well
       Acquainted with the hand writing of Johnson Gildart of Liverpool in Great Britain & to the Cost
       of their Knowledge they verily believe that the within Power from the said Johnson Gildart to the
       said James Wignel is signed in the proper hand writing of the said Johnson Gildart

                      Baltimore County to wit I hereby Certify to all whom it may or ^doth^ Doth ^may^ Concern
       that Lyde Goodwin and John Coulter Gentleman before whom the aforegoing Deposition appeared
       to have been made and who have and who have thereto Subscribed their names were at the day
       of the date thereof and still are two Justices of the County aforesaid and to all Depositions
       by them taken and Certificates thereof given due faith and Credit is and ought to be given as
       well in Courts of Justice as thereout
          the County      In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and Affixed the seal of
                seal          my Office this seventeenth Day of August seventeen hundred and Eighty four

          This Indenture made this Twenty eighth Day of September in the Year of
       our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty four  Between Thomas Dorsey of
       Ann Arundel County in the State of Maryland ^Gentleman^ of the one Part and Evelyn Pierepont
       of the State of Delaware but at this time residing in the State of New York
       Merchant of the other Part  Whereas the aforesaid Thomas Dorsey being indebted unto
       the aforesaid Evelyn Pierepont in the sum of three thousand one hundred and eighty
       Pounds ten shillings and six pence Sterling Money as one of the Copartners of Dorsey
       Wheeler and Company of Baltimore Town Merchants did heretofore to wit on the thirtieth
       Day of April in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty four to
       secure the punctual Payment of the said sum of money with Interest convey to the said Evelyn
       Pierepont his Heirs and Assigns in Trust for that Purpose sundry Tracts Parts of Tracts and
       Parcels of Land situate and lying in the Counties of Frederick and Ann Arundel in the State
       of Maryland aforesaid as by relation to the said Deed bearing date as aforesaid and entered on
       record in the General Court of the Western Shore will fully appear ^and^ Whereas also since the
       Execution of the Deed aforesaid from him the said Thomas Dorsey to the said Evelyn Pierepont
