213 Benjamin Gaither in hand well and truly paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents by them the said John Norwood and Mary Norwood the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and himself therewith fully satisfied contented and paid hath bargained sold granted Aliened Enfeoffed and Confirmed and Doth hereby Grant bargain sell Alien Enfeoff and Confirm all my Right title use Interest Trust property Claim and Demand of in and to all that Tract or Parcel of Land laying and being situated in Ann Arundel County known and distinguished by the name of Bite the Biter unto ^them^ the said John Norwood and Mary Norwood their heirs and Assigns for ever To have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of Land Called Bite the Biter with the premisses and appurtenances thereon being or in any wise belonging unto them the said John Norwood and Mary Norwood their heirs and Assigns forever to the only proper use and Behoof of them the said John Norwood and Mary Norwood their heirs and Assigns for ever and to and for no other use Intent and purpose whatsoever And the said Benjamin Gaither himself and his heirs and Assigns doth Covenant promise Grant and agree with them the said John Norwood and Mary Norwood their heirs and Assigns to make over and Execute at all times hereafter when there^un^to requested any further Instrument of writing or conveyance of the aforesaid Tract or parcell of Land unto them the said John Norwood and Mary Norwood their heirs and Assigns for ever According to the true Intent and meaning of these presents and the Premisses and Appurtenances thereon being and belonging In Witness Whereof the said Benjamin Gaither has hereto set his hand and affixed his seal the Day and year aforesaid Signed Sealed and Delivered Benj.n Gaither (seal) In the presence of Nic.r Worthington James Kelso At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was thus written (Viz.t) Received date within of John Norwood and Mary Norwood five Shillings Specie in full as within mentioned Test Nic.l Worthington Benj.n Gaither 4½ sides On the 21.st day of April 1784 Came before us two of the Justices Assigned to keep the peace in and for the County of Ann Arundel Benjamin Gaither And Severally acknowledged the within Conveyance as his Act and Deed According to the true Intent and meaning thereof Nic.l Worthington James Kelso Recorded 17.th May 1784 Ex.d State of Maryland Know all men by these presents that we Samuel Abell youngest Enoch Fenwick Sen.r Bennet Combs and John Smith Jun.r are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland aforesaid in the full and just sum of Eight Thousand Pounds Current money to be paid unto the State of Maryland to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves and every of us our and every of our heirs Executors and Administrators Jointly and severally by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this Sixteenth day of March Annoque Domini One Thousand seven hundred and Eighty four The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound Samuel Abell Youngest shall well and faithfully execute and perform the several duties required of him as Collector of the Tax for Saint Marys County According to Law ^then^ the above Obligation to be Void Else to remain in full force power and Virtue in Law (Signed) |
