203 And by force and Virtue of the powers and Authority to me given do make ordain and Substitute and in my place and stead and depute my trusty and Loving friend John Churchman of the County of Cæcil in the State of Maryland Surveyor my true and Lawfull Attorney for me ^and^ in the name of the said Allen England Joseph England and Charles England and for their use to Ask demand sue for recover and receive all such Sum and sums of Money Debts Goods Wares dues accounts and all other demands whatsoever which are or shall be due owing payable & belonging to the said Allen England Joseph England and Charles England by any manner of ways or means whatsoever within the af.d State of Maryland by any person or persons whatsoever I the said Job Harvey being Authorized to have use and take all Lawfull ways and means for the recovery of such in America as by Letter of Attorney bearing date the 18.th Day of July Anno Domini 1770 Recorded in the Rolls office for the County of NewCastle in Lib A vol Q.d pa.rs 5 6 and 7 Reference thereunto being had may more fully appear giving and granting unto my said Attorney by these presents my full and whole Power strength and Authority in and about the premisses to have use and take all Lawfull ways and means in the names of the said Allen England Joseph England and Charles England for the recovery thereof And upon receipt of any such Debts Goods Wares Dues accounts or sums of money afs.d Acquittances or other sufficient Discharges for the said Allen England Joseph England and Charles England and in their names to make seal and deliver and generally all and every other Act or acts Thing and Things Device & Devises in the Law whatsoever needfull and necessary to be done in and about the premisses for the recovery of all or any such Debts Goods wares Accounts or sums of money afs.d for them and in their names to do execute and perform as fully largely and amply to all intents and purposes as I myself might or could do if I was personally present or as if the matter required more special Authority than is herein given and Attornies one or more under him for the purposes afs.d to make and constitute and again at pleasure to revoke Ratifying allowing and holding for firm & effectual all and whatsoever my said Attorney shall lawfully do or cause to be done in and about the premisses by Virtue hereof in Witness whereby I the said Job Harvey have hereunto not only set my hand and seal but Jacob Brown Notary & Tabellion Public for the Delaware State hath hereunto Subscribed his usual firm & set his seal of Office and dated the twenty Ninth day of March in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Eighty four Sealed and Delivered Job Harvey (seal) In the presence of W.m Jones Taylor Note the within interlineation was made before the sealing hereof Jacob Brown Not.o sa.s Pub.l (seal) Recorded 27.th April 1784 Ex.d This Indenture made this Sixteenth day of March in the year Seventeen hundred and Eighty four Between Henry Gassaway of Ann Arundel County Gentleman of the one part and Thomas Freer of the City of Annapolis Gentleman of the other part witnesseth that the said Henry Gassaway for and in Consideration of one Silver watch gilt of the value of fifteen pounds current money to the said Henry Gassaway by the said Thomas Freer paid and Delivered the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath Granted bargained sold enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents Doth grant bargain sell enfeoff and confirm unto the aforesaid Thomas Freer all that lot or parcel of Ground being part of my Lady's manor in Baltimore and Harford Counties purchased by the said Henry Gassaway of the commissioners of confiscated Estates & distinguished on the plot of said manor made in Consequence of the orders of said Commissioners by |
