194 On the back of the aforegoing bond was thus writen Vizt I hereby Certify that William Frazier and Theodore Hodgkin the subscribing evidences to the within bond made oath that they were present when Leonard Waring adn Benjamin Wailes Signed Sealed and acknowleged the within bond and at there request Signed the same as witneses thereto W Bowie Know all men by these presents that we Philip Turner Jeremiah Brashear and William Sprigg Bowie of Prince Georges County Gentlemen are held and firmly bound unto teh state of Maryland in the full and Just Quantity of Forty Thousand Pounds of Tobacco to be paid to teh said state to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind our selves our heirs Executors and Administrators Jointly and severally firmly by these presents Sealed with our seals and dated this Eighteenth day of November Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and Eighty three The Condition of hte above obligation is such that if hte above bounded Philip Turner Shall diligently and Carefully view and examine all Tobacco brought to any public warehouse or warehouses where he is appointed to be Inspector and all other Tobacco he shall be Called upon to view and Inspect and that he will not Receive any Tobacco that is not in hus Judgment Sound well conditioned merchantable and Clear of Transh nor receive pass or stamp any Tobacco or Hogshead of Tobacco prohibited by an Act of Assembly Entitled for the regulation of Tob.o and that he will pass and stamp all Tob.o that is sound well Conditioned Merchantable and Clear of trash and in all things well and faithfully discharge his duty in the Office of an Inspector according to the best of his skill and Judgment and according to the to teh directions of the Act of Assembly without fear favour Affection Malice or partiality and tha the will well and faithfully execute and perform the several duties required of him by this Act otherwise to Remain and be in full force and virtue in Law Signed Sealed & Delivered Philip Turner (Seal) in the presence of Jeremiah Brashear (Seal) Ch.s Clagett Hugh Lyon W.m Sprigg Bowie (Seal) On teh back of the aforegoing bond was thus writen Viz.t Prince Georges County Sct I hereby Certify that Charles Clagett and Hugh Lyon made Oath that they were present when the within Philip Turner Jeremiah Brashears and William Sprigg Bowie Gentlemen Signed sealed and delivered the within Bond and at their request Signed the same as Witneses thereto Edw.d Sprigg Recorded 20.th March 1784 Ex.d Know all men by these presents that we Zachariah Wade Robert Wade adn Charles Fendly of Prince Georges County are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and Just Quantity of Forty Thousand Pounds of Tobacco To teh which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves heirs Executors and Administrators Jointlky and Severally firmly by these presents Sealed with our seals and dated this Twenty ninth day of September Anno Domini 1783 The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bound Zachariah Wade do diligently and Carefully view and examine all Tobacco brought to Broad Creek Warehouse and all other Tobacco he shall be called upon to View and Inspect and that he will not receive any Tobacco that is not in his Judgment sound well conditioned Merchantable and Clear of Trash nor receive pass or stamp any |
