193 Ex.d Know all men by these presents the we Abra.m Boyd & John Beall of Prince Georges County Gentlemen are held and firmly bound unto the state of Maryland in the full and Just quantity of forty Thousand pounds of Tobacco to be paid to the said State to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves our heirs Executors and Administrators Jointly and severally firmly by these presents Sealed with our Seals and dated this fourth day of December Anno Domini 1783 The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound Abra.m Boyd shall diligently and Carefully view and Examine all Tobacco brought to any public warehouse or warehouses where he is appointed to be Inspector and all other Tobacco he shall be Called upon to view and Inspect and that he will not receive any Tobacco that is no tin his Judgment sound well conditioned Merchantable and Clear of Trash nor receive pass or stamp any Tobacco or Hodgshead of Tobacco prehibited by an Act of Assembly entitled for the Regulation of Tobacco and that he will pass stamp all Tobacco that is sound well Conditioned Merchantable and Clear of trash and in all things well and faithfully discharge his duty in the Office of Inspector according to the best of his skill and Judgment and according to the directions of the Act of Assembly without fear favour affection malice or partiallity and that he will well and faithfully execute and perform the several duties required of him by this Act Otherwise to remain and be in full force and virtue in Law Signed Sealed & Delivered Abra.m Boyd (Seal) in the presence of John Beall (Seal) John Hill Bryan Daley On the back of the aforegoing bond was thus written Viz.t Prince Georges County 4.th December 1783 John Hill and Bryan Daley came before me one of the Commissioners of the tax for the af.d County and made oath that they were present at the execution of the within bond and saw Abraham Boyd and John Beall Sign Seal and deliver the same Given under my hand the day and year above written John Contee Recorded 20.th March 1781 Ex.d Know all men by these presents that we Leonard Waring and Benjamin Wailes of Prince Georges County Gentlemen are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and Just Quantity of Forty thousand Pounds of Crop Tob.o to be paid unto the Aforesaid state to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves and every of us our and every of our heirs Executors and Administrators in the whole and for the Whole Jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our Seals and dated this 13.th day of September in the year Seventeen hundred and Eighty three The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound Leonard Waring do well and faithfully execute the Office of an Inspector at Nottingham Warehouse so far forth as relate to an Act of the General Assembly intitled an act for the Regulation of the staple of Tobacco then the above Obligation to be void and of none effect Otherwise to stand Remain and be in full force and virtue in Law Signed Sealed and delivered Leon.d Waring (Seal) in the presence of B Wailes (Seal) William Frazier Theodore Hodgkin |
