10) Henry Bateman have put the said William Brown in full possession by delivering him the said Negro girrel in the name of all the said goods and Chattels In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of December in the Year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and eighty two Henry Bateman s.r (S) Signed Sealed and Delivered in the Presence of Isaac McHard Jonathan Parker On the back of the aforegoing Instrument of writing was thus written To wit On the 4.th day of Dec.r 1782 came before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for Ann Arundel County in the State of Maryland the within named Henry Bateman and acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be his act and Deed and the Negro Girel goods and chattels in the same writing mentioned to be bargained and Sold to be the right title and Estate of the within named William Brown his heir sand Assigns forever according to the true intent and meaning of the same Bill of sale and the act of Assembly in such case made and provided Allen Quynn Received on the day and Year first within written of and from the within named William Brown the within mentioned Sum of five Shillings Current money being the consideration money within mentioned to be by him paid Henry Bateman Sen.r Isaac McHard 6⅓ sides Recorded 11th March 1783 Ex.d dl.d This Indenture made this Eleventh day of February in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and eighty three Between John Seyl of George Town in Montgomery county and State of Maryland of the one part and Nicholas Hower in Frederick Town and Frederick county and State of Maryland Hatter of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Seyl for and in Consideration of the sum of Two thousand and fifty nine Pounds Four shillings and eleven Pence current money to him in hand paid by the said Nicholas Houer before the sealing and Delivery hereof the receipt whereof the said John Seyl doth hereby acknowledge He the said John Seyl hath given granted bargained sold alined released enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell alien release enfeoff and confirm unto the said Nicholas Houer and his heirs four Lots of ground in the Addition to George town in Montgomery County aforesaid Known by the numbers Ninety one Two hundred and twenty fifteen and Two hundred and Ninety containing three Acres and three Quarters of Land more or Less which said lots were conveyed to the said John Seyl by Charles Beatty of Frederick county and George Frazier Hawkins of Prince George County by Deed bearing date the Twenty third day of July Seventeen hundred and Seventy and Recorded on the Land records of Frederick county and all his the said John Seyl's undivided third part or Portion of Lot Number Sixty two lying and being in George Town aforesaid which said Lot was formerly Conveyed by Robert Peters to a Certain Rachel Tenney and by the said Rachel Tenney to Mssrs Hower Seyl and Lange and also all his the said John Seyl's right and title to two Lots of Ground lying and being in the Addition to George Town Known by numbers two Hundred and Seventy eight and Two hundred and Seventy nine under a Bond from a certain John Wise for the conveyance to George Mich.l Federkeil assigned to the said John Seyl and all the estate of the said John Seyl in each and every of the afore described Lots Improvements and Advantages thereon to have (and) |
