8 or Assigns to the only proper use and behoof of her the said Anne Catharine Green her Heirs and Assigns for ever and to no other intent or purpose whatsoever And the aforesaid Benjamin Ogle for himself and his Heirs the aforesaid Lott or Portion of Ground and Premises with the Appurtenances unto her the said Anne Catharine Green her Heirs or Assigns against himself the said Benjamin and his Heirs and all persons whatsoever claiming or to Claim by from or under him or them shall and will Warrant and for ever Defend by these Presents In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents have hereunto sett their Hands and Seals the Day & Year first above Written Signed Sealed and Delivered William Harwood in the Presence of us Benjamin Ford Ben Ogle On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t Received on the day and Year within Written of the within named Anne Catharine Green the Consideration ^money^ therein mentioned to be by her paid to me Test William Harwood Benjamin Ford May the 14.th 1770 Then came the within named Benjamin Ogle before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court and acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act & Deed and the Land and Premisses therein Specified to be the Right and Estate of her the said Anne Catharine Green according to the true Intent and meaning thereof and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and Provided Philip Thomas Lee Received of M.rs Anne Catharine Green the Sum of one Penny Sterling it being the Alienation Money on the within Premisses for the use of Lord Baltimore by Virtue of a Commission from John Morton Jordan Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General Jn.o Brice Recorded 15.th May 1770 5 sides X.d This Indenture made this thirty first day of May in the Year of our Lord seventeen Hundred and seventy Between Henry Griffith of Ann Arundel County in the Province of Maryland of the one part and Greenbury Griffith of Frederick County and Province aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Henry Griffith for and in Consideration of the Sum of Fifty Pounds Sterling Money to him in hand paid before the insealing & Delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof he the said Henry Griffith doth hereby acknowledge and himself therewith fully satisfied contented and paid and therefore hath given granted bargained sold and by these Presents doth give grant bargain Sell Convey and Confirm unto him the said Greenbury Griffith his Heirs and Assigns forever All his the aforesaid Henry Griffith's Right Title Interest Claim and Demand whatever to all that part or parcel of Land being part of a Tract of Land called the Cow Pasture Begining for the Lines thereof at the Beginning Tree of the Tract of Land called Pleasant Spring and running thence North Eighty five Degrees West Eighty Perches then a Cross the said Land called the Cow Pasture South twenty seven Degrees West one hundred and thirty Perches to hit the end of the Twenty ninth Line thereof then with the Original Tract and also with the Land called the Addition to Brooke Grove the two following Courses South Seventy seven degrees and a half Degree East Three Hundred and Seventy three perches North forty eight Degrees East Three hundred and thirty Perches to the Eleventh Line of a Tract of Land called the Addition to 3 Range then running with the said Land the three following Courses Viz.t North Sixty two degrees West Sixty perches North Seventy three Perches (West) |
