740 On the 26.th day of October 1774 Came before me the subscriber One of the Justices of the the Prov.l Court the within named Francis Shepperd party to the within deed and acknowledged the same to be his Act and deed and the Land and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right Title and Estate of the within named Daniel of S.t Thomas Jenifer his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the purport true Intent and meaning of said Deed Philip Thomas Lee Received of Daniel of S.t Thomas Jenifer Esq.r the Sum of three Shillings & Six pence Sterling being the Alienation fine due on the within land to the Lord Proprietary by virtue of a Commission from Daniel of S.t Thomas Jenifer Esq.r his said Lordships Agents & receiver General John Brice Recorded the 26.th day of Oct.o 1774 This Indenture made this Eighteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Seventy four Between Robert Pleasants and Thomas Sprigg Executors of Joseph Hill of one part and Philemon Lecompte of Dorchester County of the other part Whereas a certain Robert Willson of Dorchester County for and in Consideration of the Sums of One hundred and Sixty three pounds ten Shillings Current Money of Maryland and fourteen hundred and fourteen and a half pounds of Tobacco did make over and convey by Good and Sufficient deed of Mortgage bearing date the Sixth day of December Seventeen hundred and Sixty four one hundred acres of land lying in the County aforesaid being part of a Tract of Land called Teaches hope and one negro Girl Slave named Sall one other Negro Girl named Drucilla and one other negro woman named Jenny and her child called Ned to the said Robert Pleasants and Thomas Sprigg their Heirs Executors administrators and Assigns as by the said deed duly Executed acknowledged and Recorded in the Records of Dorchester County af.d referance being there to had will appear Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Thomas Sprigg and Robert Pleasants for and in Consideration of the sum of three hundred & forty pounds 2/4.d Common Currency to them in hand paid by the said Philemon Lecompte at and before the sealing and Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof they do hereby Acknowledge have Assigned Transfered and set over and by these Presents do Alien Assign Transfer and set over to the said Philemon Lecompte the aforesaid Deed of Mortgage and all their Right Title Interest Claim and demand of in and to (the) |
