736 Ann Arundel County fs.t On the 29.th day of August 1774 Before us the Subscribers two of the Justices of the peace for said County came Michael Pue William Goodwin and Milcah his wife Eleanor Dorsey and Samuel Dorsey Parties to the within Indenture of Bargain & Sale and Acknowledged the same to be their Several Acts and deed according to the True intent and meaning thereof and the Lands and premisses within mentioned to be Bargained and sold to be the right Title Interest Estate and Property of the within named Thomas Dorsey his Heirs and Assigns for ever Also came Margaret the wife of the said Samuel Dorsey Heir at Law and being by us privately Examined appart from her said Husband did acknowledge all her Right of Dower of in and to the said Lands and Premisses to be the Right Title Interest Estate and Property of the said Thomas Dorsey his Heirs and Assigns for ever and at the same Time did Declare that she made such acknowledgement of her own free and Voluntary will and accord & that she was not Compelled or Induced by any fears threats or ill usage of her said husband or thro fear of his Displeasure Before H Ridgely Basil Burgess Received of Thomas Dorsey the Sum of One pound Seven Shillings Sterling being the Alienation fine due on the within Land by virtue of a Commission from Daniel of Saint Thomas Jenifer Esquire his Lordships Agent and receiver General J Brice Ann Arundel County fs.t I hereby Certify to all whom this may come of doth Concern that Henry Ridgely and Basil Burgess Gentlemen before whom the aforegoing Acknowledgment was taken and hath thereto Subscribed their names as such are at the date thereof and still are Two of the Right Honble the Lord Proprietarys Justices of the Peace for Ann Arundel County af.d duly Commissioned and Sworn and to all Certificates by them so given due faith and Credit is and ought to be given as well in Courts of Justice as thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & (LS) affixed the Publick Seal of Ann Arundel County this Twentieth day of October One Thousand seven hundred & Seventy four John Brice Clk of AA C.ty Recorded the 20.th Oct.o 1774 15 sides Ex.d This Indenture made the thirteenth day of October in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and Seventy four between Thomas Dorsey of Ann Arundel County and Province of Maryland of the one part and Michael Pue of Ann Arundel County and Province af.sd of the other part Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of the Sum of Seven hundred and Sixty pounds and Seven pence Current Money to the said Thomas Dorsey in hand paid by (the) |
