723 In the Name of the said William Perkins Thomas Buchanan and William Brown or otherwise to Ask demand Recover and Receive of and from the Executor or Executors of the said John Morton Jordan deceased and of and from all and every other person or persons to whom the same shall or may Concern the ^said^ sum of Twelve Thousand Seven Hundred and Twenty five pounds Seven Shillings and Seven pence or what ever other Sum is Shall or may be due and owing from the said Executor or Executors of the said John Morton Jordan Deceased to them the said William Perkins Thomas Buchanan and William Brown Assigned to us the said Henry Holland William Powell and Cordall Powell as aforesaid and every part and Parcel thereof and upon receipt thereof or any part thereof good and Sufficient Releases Acquittances and other discharges in the Law to give and Execute for the same as Occassion shall or may require And to settle and adjust all and every Account and Accounts touching or Concerning any Matter Transaction or thing whatsoever depending between the said John Morton Jordan Deceased and his Estate and Effects or the Executor or Executors thereof and to compound and Agree the Same in such Manner as he the said Richard Holland shall think fit Recommending to his Special case that he will Consult and Concurr with Thomas Jett of Virginia Esquire in the Setttlement of the Business entrusted to him the said Richard Holland to accept and receive of and from the said Thomas Jett or any other Person or persons whom it may Concern the Deed or Deeds of Conveyance of Lands made or to be made by the said Thomas Jett to the said William Perkins Thomas Buchanan and William Brown agreed to be ^or^ sold by him as Executor of the said John Morton Jordin to them in part payment of a greater Sum due from the Estate and Effects of the said John Morton Jordan to them the said William Perkins Thomas Buchanan and William Brown and in the Name of the said William Perkins Thomas Buchanan and William Brown or of them the said Henry Holland William Powell and Cordall Powell or either of them to make and Execute all or any deed or deeds that shall or may be Necessary for the Better Conveying or Assigning Such Lands Tenements and Premisses all and every part and parcel thereof And in Case of refusal by the Executor or Executors of the said John Morton Jordan to Settle pay and do in all things as he the said Richard Holland shall be advised to be proper and Needful It shall and may be Lawful for the said Richard Holland to Commence and prosecute one or more Action or Actions Suit or Suits at Law or in Equity and take or cause to be taken all such other Ways and means in and about the Several matters aforesaid as he the said Richard Holland shall think fit And the said Henry Holland William Powell and Cordall Powell for the Purposes aforesaid Do hereby give and grant unto the said Richard Holland full power and and Authority in the Premisses to appoint the said Thomas Jett or any other person or persons he shall think fit or be advised as occassion shall require under him or in his Absence to be his Substitute or Substitutes Ratifying Allowing and Confirming all and whatsoever he the said Richard Holland his Substitute or Substitutes shall Dow or cause to be done in the Premisses by Virtue of these presents in as full and Ample manner to all intents and purposes as if they the said Henry Holland William Powell and Cordall Powell were then present and did the same in person In Witness whereof they the said Henry Holland William Powell and Cordall Powell have hereunto set their Hands and Seals this Sixteenth day of July in the Thirteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &ca and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy three H Holland (LS) W.m Powell (LS) Cordall Powell (LS) Sealed and Delivered being first duly Stampt in the presence of (the words for Two Thousand pounds being first Interlined between the 9.th and tenth Lines R.d Cracroft Fra.s Davis Clke to M.r Cracroft (To) |
