694 presents as the Assurance hereby made as also the common Recovery and Recoveries so as aforesaid or in any other Manner to be suffered and perfected shall be and enure and shall be adjudged construed deemed and taken and are and were meant and intended and are hereby declared to be and enure to the Recoveror or Recoverors in the said Recovery or Recoveries named or to be named and heard they and his and their Heirs shall stand and be seized of the Land aforesaid and premisses and every part thereof in manner and form following that is to say of and in two third parts of the Land aforesaid to and for the use of the said Gerrard Hopkins his Heirs and Assigns and of and in the remaining third part of the said Land to and for the use of the Said Sarah Hopkins her Heirs and Assigns and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their Hands and Seals the Day and Year first above written Signed sealed & Delivered Sarah Hopkins (LS) In the presence of Gerrard Hopkins (LS) And Buchanan R Alexander (LS) the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t Received the Day and Year first within mentioned of and from the within named Gerrard Hopkins the Sum of five shillings Sterling the Consideration mentioned to be paid to me Sarah Hopkins Witness And Buchanan 24.th April 1773 Then came before us the subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for Baltimore County the within named Sarah Hopkins party to the within Deed and did acknowledge the same as her Act and Deed and that the within granted Land and Premisses were the Right and Estate of the said Gerrard Hopkins also party thereto his Heirs and Assigns to and for the uses within mentioned And Buchanan 11 Sides W.m Spear Recorded April 27.th 1773 Ex.d This Indenture made this sixteenth Day of March in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy three Between Sarah Hopkins of Baltimore County Widow of the one part and Gerrard Hopkins of the same County Cabinet Maker of the other part Witnesseth that the said Sarah Hopkins for and in Consideration of the Sum of Five shillings Sterling to her in hand paid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the Receit whereof is hereby Acknowledged Hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents Doth grant bargain and sell unto him the said Gerrard Hopkins his Executors Administrators and Assigns All that piece or parcel of Land being part of a Tract of Land called Upton Court which part is contained within the following Lines Courses and Distances Begining at four bounded Trees standing at the Head of a pond called the Herring Pond and runing thence North East ninety Perches thence South East ninety four perches to Patapsco River thence up and with the said River |
