681 Commission from Dan.l of S.t Thomas Jenifer Esq.r his Lordships Agent and Receiver General J Brice Recorded 13.th May 1774 Ex.d This Indenture made y.e ninth Day of May in the Year of our Lord Anno Domini One thousand seven hundred and seventy four Between Ely Dorsey Sen.r of Ann Arundel County and Province of Maryland Gentleman of the one Part and John Lawrence of Frederick County and Province aforesaid Planter of the other Part Witnesseth that the said Ely Dorsey Sen.r Heir and Law of Cap.t John Dorsey deceas'd for and in Consideration of the Sum of five Shillings Current Money to him in Hand paid by the said John Lawrence at or before the Ensealing and Delivery of these resents the Receipt whereof he the said Ely Dorsey Sen.r doth hereby acknowledge and himself therewith fully satisfyed contented and paid allso for and in Consideration of the said John Lawrences purchasing fifty three Acres of Land Part of a Tract or Parcel called Mount Pleasant lying in Linganore in Frederick County of a certain John Dorsey Son of Jn.o Referrance being had to the Deed of Conveyance from the said John Dorsey Son of Jn.o to the said Jn.o Lawrence will make it more fully appear the Right of which was vested in the aforesaid Ely Dorsey Sen.r as Heir at Law of the aforesaid Cap.t John Dorsey deceased Now this Indenture furthe Witnesseth that the said Ely Dorsey Sen.r for and in the Considerations above mention^e^d doth give grant remise release alien enfeoff and confirm unto him the said John Lawrence his Heirs and Assigns forever Part of a Tract or Parcel of Land called Mount Pleasant lying on Linganore in Frederick County formerly taken up and patented to the aforesaid Cap.t John Dorsey deceased Begining at three bounded White Oaks and runing thence North fifty four Degrees East sixty four Perches South forty five Degrees East one hundred and forty eight Perches to intersect a Line drawn from a marked Stone South eleven and a half Degrees West one hundred and thirty six Perches then reverse of the said Course one hundred and thirty six Perch.s to the said marked Stone then South seventy seven Degrees West forty Perches to the twenty first Line of the original Survey then South thirty five Degrees West to the End of the said Line then North eighty six degrees West one hundred and nine Perches then by a streight Line to the Begining containing fifty three Acres of Land more or less Together with all and singular the Premisses and Appurtenances unto him the said John Lawrence his Heirs and Assigns for ever to the only proper Use and Behoof of him the said John Lawrence his Heirs and Assigns for ever In Witness whereof the Partie first above written hath hereunto sett his Hand and affixed his Seal the Day and Year above mentioned Signed Sealed & Delivered Ely Dorsey (LS) in the Presence of John Burgess H Ridgely (On the) |
