680 of Land more or less to have and to hold the said Part of Tract or Parcell of Land And all and singular the Houses Meadows and Improvements to the same belonging and also the Revertion and Revertions Remainder and Remainders Right Estate Interest Benefit Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said Edward Dorsey of in and to all and singular the said Premises and of in and to every Part and Parcell of them herin mentioned and intended to be hereby granted with their and every of ^their^ Appurtenances unto the said Ely Dorsey his Heirs and Assigns forever to the only Use and Behoof of him the said Ely Dorsey his Heirs and Assigns And the said Edward Dorsey for himself and his Heirs the said Tract or Parcell of Land and all and singular other the Premisses with their and every of their Appurtenances unto him the said Ely Dorsey his Heirs and Assigns against him the said Edward Dorsey his Heirs and Assigns and all Persons claiming by from or under him or any of them shall and will warrant and for ever defend In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents have hereunto set his Hand and Seal the Day and Year first above written Sign'd Seal'd & Delivered Edw.d Dorsey (LS) in the Presence of Note that the Interline (of Resurvey) H Ridgely between the eight and ninth Line John Burgess from the Top was added before the Ensealing & Delivery of these Presents On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus indorsed (Viz.t) Received of M.r Ely Dorsey the Sum of one hundred Pounds Sterling Money it being the Consideration within mentioned Witness my my Hand this ninth day of May 1774 Test Edw.d Dorsey H Ridgely John Burgess On the ninth Day of May seventeen hundred and seventy four came before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices for Anne Arundel County the within mentioned Edward Dorsey and acknowledged the within Deed as his Act and Deed and the Land and Premisses within mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within mentioned Ely Dorsey his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true Intent and Meaning of the same and an Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided and at the same Time came Deborah the Wife of the said Edward Dorsey who being examined by us privately and out of the Hearing of her said Husband declared that she relinquished her Right of Dower in the within mentioned Land and that she did the same fully and volintarily and that she was not compeld thereto by Fear or Threats of her said Husband or Fear of his Displeasure H Ridgely 9 Sides John Burgess Received from M.r Elias Dorsey Seventeen Shillings and two Pence Sterling being the Alienation Fine due on the within land to the Lord Proprietor by Virtue of (a) |
