66 came also Agnes wife to the said William Lux and Mary Wife to the said William Lyon and being privately Examined out of the Hearing of their said Husbands did freely and Voluntarily acknowledge the Right of Dower to the said Land and declared they did the same of their own free will and accord and without any Threats of their said Husbands or fear of their Displeasure according to Act of Assembly in that Case made & provided John Moale And Buchanan On the Thirtieth day of August in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred & seventy Charles Grahame one of the Parties to these Presents came before me and acknowledged this Indenture to be his Act and Deed and the Lands therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within named John Dorsey his Heirs and Assigns for ever taken before & Certified by J Hepburn On the fourth day of September in the Year of our Lord Seventeen Hundred and seventy James Dick one of the Parties to these Presents came before me and acknowledged this Indenture to be his Act & Deed and the Lands therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within named John Dorsey his Heirs and Assigns for ever Philip Thomas Lee Baltimore County sc.t I Hereby Certify all whom it doth or may concern that the Worshipful John Moale and Andrew Buchanan of Baltimore County Gent who have taken and subscribed the aforegoing Acknowledgment (of William Lux and William Lyon and their wives) of the within Deed were at the time of taking and certifying the same and still are two of the Right Honorable the Lord Proprietary that now is of the Province of Maryland his Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid duly and Legally Commissioned Authorized and sworn to whole Transactions in such Capacity due Faith and Credit is and ought to be given as well in Justice Court as Elsewhere In Testimony L S whereof I have hereunto set my hand and the Seal of the County aforesaid this Tenth day of October Anno seventeen Hundred and Seventy A Lawson Cl Balt.o Received of M.r John Dorsey the sum of Two Pounds and six pence Sterling Money for the use of Lord Baltimore it being the Alienation Money on the within Land by Virtue of a Commission from John Morton Jordan Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General J Brice Recorded 15.th October 1770 12¼ Sides x.d This Indenture made the Thirtieth day of April in the Year of our Lord God Seventeen hundred and seventy Between William Harrison son of James Harrison of Calvert County Planter of the one part and John Harrison his Brother of the County aforesaid of the other Part Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of the Sum of Twenty Pounds Current Money to the said William Harrison in hand paid by the said (John) |
