611) the twentieth Day of April in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy three ^and^ acknowledge the within Deed according to the Form and Effect of the Act of Assembly of the Province of Maryland in such Case made and provided which I do certify James Townsend Mayor 15¼ Sides Barbara Bladen Wife of the within named Thomas Bladen Esquire who acknowledged the within Deed in the Manner and Form as before certifed having been examined privately and out of the Hearing and Presence of her Husband by me the Right Honourable James Townsend Esquire Lord Mayor of the City of London whether she doth make her acknowledgment of the within Deed for the Intent and Purpose of having her Right of Dower barrd in the within granted Lands and Premisses willingly and freely and without being induced thereto by Fear or Threats of or ill Usage by her Husband or Fear of his Displeasure ^declared that she acknowledged the within Deed willingly and freely without being induced thereto by fear or threats of or ill Usage by her Husband or fear of his Displeasure^ The Acknowledgment of the said Barbara Bladen taken this 20.th Day of April in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy three in Manner and Form aforesaid according to the Form and Effect of the Act of Assembly of the Province of Maryland in such Case made and provided which I do hereby certify James Townsend Mayor Recorded 21.st March 1774 Ex.d Know all Men by these presents that we Alexander Houstoun Robert Boyle James Dougall and William Cuninghame all of Glasgow Merchants and Partners of the Company which was lately known by the firm of Alexander Cuninghame and Company but the Business of which in consequence of the death of our late Partner Alexander Cuninghame is now carried on under the firm of Cuninghame Findlay and Company Have made ordained constituted and Appointed and by these Presents do make ordain constitute and appoint Robert Findlay Junior Merchant in Glasgow our partner and one of our present Managers to be our true and lawful Attorney in the Province of Maryland or any other Province in North America for us and in our Name and stead and for our use to ask demand sue for levy recover and receive all such sum and sums of Money damages debts rents goods wares dues accounts and other demands whatsoever which are or shall be due owing payable or belonging to us either under our late or under our present firm or claimed by or determined from us any Manner of ways or means whatsoever by or from any person or persons in the said Province of Maryland or in any other Province or Colony in North America aforesaid Giving and Granting to our said Attorney by these presents our full and whole power strength and authority in and about the premises And particularly giving and granting him such power strength and Authority over all our Partners or Factors hereafter named in the said Province of Maryland or any other Province or Colony in North America Viz.t John Craig Merchant in Portobacco our partner and factor there (David) |
