             On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus indorsed Viz.t

       On the twenty first Day of November came before me John page One of his Majesties Justices of the
       General Court of Virginia Sarah the Wife of the within named Peter Presly Thornton and she
       being by me privately examined a part from and out of the Hearing of her s.d Husband did relinquish
       and release to the within named John Taylor & his Heirs  All her Right Title Claim & Interest
       of Dower of and in the Lands and Appurtenances within mentioned and she declared she did
       the same voluntaryly & freely without being induced thereto by Fears or Threats of evil Usage
       from her said Husband or through Fear of his Displeasure before

       I do hereby certify that John Page Esquire the person taking and certifying the Acknowledgment
       of Sarah the Wife of Peter Presly Thornton Esq indorsed on this Deed of Indenture at the Time
       of his taking and writing the same and certifying the same Acknowledgement was one of his
       Majesties Justices of his General Court of Virginia thereto legally commissioned and sworn

       On the eighth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and
       seventy four came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court
               Edward Lloyd within mentioned one of the Witnesses to the Execution of the within Deed &
       made Oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that he was present & saw the said Peter
       Presly Thornton sign Seal & deliver and exectute the within Instrument of Writing as his
22 sides    Act & Deed to and for the Uses Intents & Purposes in the same expressed that he this
       Deponent then & there signed & subscribed his Name within as a Witness thereto and that the
       within James Forbes and Thomas Lawson the two other subscribing Witnesses were likewise
       then present & signed their Names within respectively as Witnesses to the Execution of the same
       Deed in his presence

             Maryland fs.t   On the eigth Day of February in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred
                         and seventy four afore.d came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships
                   Justices of the provincial Court the within Samuel Galloway Esquire and for and in the
       Name of the within Peter Presly Thornton party to the within Deed and as his Attorney by and
       in Virtue of the power & Authority given the said Samuel Galloway by the within Deed and
       acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be the Act and Deed of the said Peter
       Presly Thornton and the Lands and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate
       of the within John Tayloe his Heirs and Assigns according to the true Intent & Meaning of the
       said Indenture
