599) On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus endorsed Viz.t Received this twenty first Day of August 1773 of Basil Dorsey the Sum of six hundred and ten Pounds Current Money the Consideration expressed in the within Deed Witness his Jos Wood John I Carmack W.m Baird Mark 7 sides On the twenty first Day of August 1773 came John Carmack before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for Frederick County and acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed and the Lands and Premises therein mentioned to be the right and Estate of the within named basil Dorsey his Heirs and Assigns for ever And at the same Time came also Elizabeth the Wife of the said John Carmack and being by us examined apart from the Hearing of her said Husband relinquished her right of Dower to the said Land and that she did the same of her own free and voluntary Consent without being compeled thereto by any Threats from her said Husband or Fear of his Displeasure Jos Wood Acknowledged before W.m Baird Recorded 10.th February 1774 x.d This Indenture made this third Day of January in the Year seventeen hundred and seventy four by and between Judson Cooledge of Prince Georges County in the Province of Maryland Gentleman of the one Part and Thomas Sim Lee of the same County and Province Gentleman of the other part Witnesseth that the said Judson Cooledge for and in Consideration of the Sum of one thousand two hundred and sixty pounds sterling Money to him in Hand paid by the said Thomas Sim Lee at and before the Ensealing and Delivery hereof the receipt whereof the said Judson Cooledge doth hereby acknowledge and therefrom acquit and discharge the said Thomas Sim Lee his Heirs Executors and Administrators and every of them by these Presents Hath given granted bargained sold aliened released enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents Doth give grant bargain sell alien release enfeoffe and confirm unto the said Thomas Sim Lee his Heirs and Assigns All those several Parcells of Land following that is to say All that Tract or Parcell of Land being Part of a Tract of Land called Essex Lodge lying and being in Prince Georges County aforesaid and whereon the said Judson Cooledge now dwelleth Beginning at a Cedar Post and from thence running North eighty and a half Degrees West two hundred and forty seven Perches to a bounded black Oak and from thence run^n^ing South fifteen and three quarters Degrees West two hundred and four Perches to a marked Doggwood and from thence East and by South to Mattapony Creek then on by and with the said Creek to Patuxent river and then with a streight Line to the begining Cedar Post containing three hundred and twenty Acres of Land more or less being the same parcell of Land which was heretofore on or about |
