594 This Letter of Attorney was produced and shewn to William Cuthbert and John Barber at the Time of ^their^ Swearing the Affidavit annexed this twenty second Day of March One thousand seven hundred and seventy three Before me 11 sides John C Blackett Mayor Recorded 1.st Day of February 1774 Ex.d Copy) Whereas Robinson Wakefield Son of George Wakefield of Shields in the County of Northumberland Draper and Ann his Wife deceased And Ann Fell Daughter of Edward Fell late of Over Killet in the County of Lancaster Merchant formerly of Patapsco in Maryland and of Ann his Wife both deceased having declared their Intentions of taking each other in Marriage before several Meetings of the People called Quakers at Sunderland and Stockton in the County of Durham and the Proceedings of the said Robinson Wakefield and Ann Fell after due Enquiry and deliberate Consideration thereof were allowed by the said Meetings they appearing clear of all others and having Consent of Parents and Relations concerned Now these are to certify all whom it may concern that for the Accomplishing of their said Marriage this ninth Day of the third Month calld March one thousand seven hundred and fifty seven They the said Robinson Wakefield and Ann Fell appeared in a publick Assembly of the aforesaid People and others in their Meeting house in Bishop auckland and he the said Robinson Wakefield taking the said Ann Fell by the Hand did openly and solemnly declare as followeth Friends In the Year of the Lord and before this Assembly I take this my Friend Ann Fell to be my Wife promising through Divine Assistance to be unto her a loving and faithful Husband untill it shall please the Lord by Death to seperate us And the said Ann Fell did then and there in the said Assembly in like Manner declare as followeth Friends in the Fear of the Lord and before this Assembly I take this my Friend Robinson Wakefield to be my Husband promising through Divine Assistance to be unto him a loving and faithful Wife untill it shall please the Lord by Death to seperate us And the said Robinson Wakefield and Ann Fell as a Farther Confirmation thereof and in Testimony thereunto did then and there to these Presents set their Names Robinson Wakefield Ann Fell We whose Names are hereunto subscribed being present among others at the Solemnizing of the aforesaid Marriage and Subscription in Manner aforesaid as Witnesses have also to these Presents subscribed our Names the Day and Year above written Relations George Wakefield, William Maude, Wakefield Simpson, John Walton, Reginald Holme, Nicholas Dodshon, Mary Dixon, Frances Dodshon (others are) Robert Wardell, Jonathan Hedley, William Backhouse, Thomas Richardson Bernard Ogden Roger Richardson John Dodshon, Samuel King, Sarah Walker, Deborah Richardson, (Elizabeth) |
