592 To all to whom these Presents shall come I John Erasmas Blackett Esquire Mayor of the Town of Newcastle upon Pyne in the County of the same Town in the Kingdom of Great Britain Do hereby certify that on the Day of the Date hereof the abovenamed William Cuthbert and John Barber personally came and appeared before me And they being Persons well known and worthy of Good Credit did by solemn Oath which they then took upon the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God before me solemnly depose to be true the several Matters contained and mentioned in the abovewritten Affidavit And I do hereby further certify That at the same Time personally came and appeared before me the said Mayor Robinson Wakefield and Ann his Wife the Persons named in the Letter of Attorney hereunto annexed and did severally acknowledge that they duly executed the same before the said William Cuthbert and John Barber the subscribing Witnesses thereto In Testimony whereof I the said John Erasmus Blackett have hereunto set my Hand and caused the Seal of the Mayoralty of the said Town of Newcastle upon Tyne to be hereunto affixed this twenty second Day of March in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy three John Blackett Mayor (LS) Know all Men by these Presents that we Robinson Wakefield of North Shields in the County of Northumberland in Great Britain Gentleman and Ann Wakefield Wife of the said Robinson Wakefield late Ann Fell Spinster only CHild and Heir at Law of Edward Fell formerly of Baltimore Town in the Province of Maryland in America Merchant deceased Have and each of us Hath made ordained constituted authorized and appointed And by these Presents do and each of us Doth make ordain constitute authorize and appoint John Backhouse of Philidelphia in America Merchant and William Backhouse of New york in America Merchant and either of them our true and lawfull Attornies and Attorney jointly and severally for us and in our Names or in the Name of me the said Robinson Wakefield by all Lawfull Ways and Means whatsoever to enter upon and to demand and take Possession of all that Plantation Tract and Parcell of Land and Ground situate lying and being in the Province of Maryland in America called and known by the Name of Coles Harbour containing five hundred and twenty Acres or thereabouts And of all the Messuages or Tenements Shops Warehouses Quays and Hereditaments whatsoever erected and built thereupon or belonging thereto late the Estate and Inheritance of the said Edward Fell And if the Possession thereof shall then be refused and withheld one or more Suit or Suits at Law or in Equity for us and in our Names or in the Name of me the said Robinson Wakefield to institute for the Recover in such Manner as they or either of them shall think fit and proper and to proceed (Judgment) |
