       Ourselves James Gordon and Company and We the said John Glassford James Gordon James
       Gordon John Campbell Henry Riddell Alexander Low and William Ingram otherwise
       designing ourselves John Glassford and Company do by these Presents Constitute and Impower
       the said Henry Riddell at Present of Glasgow but now bound for Maryland aforesaid Merchant
       to lease or demise the said lands or any of them or any part of them to such Person or
       persons and for such terms or term or number of y^e^ars and under such yearly and other Rents
       as he the said Henry Riddell shall think fit or to sell grant and convey the same in fee simple
       or for such other estate as he the said Henry Riddle shall think fit for such price or sum or sums
       of money or Tobacco or other valuable consideration and to such person or persons as he the said
       Henry Riddell shall Judge expedient and for us and in our names or for and in the name of any
       of us to seal deliver make and execute such Deed Deeds Assurance Assurances or Conveyances for
       the Sale and Disposal thereof or any Part thereof with such Clauses Covenants Provisions
       Conditions and Agreements therein to be contained as the said Henry Riddell shall think proper
       and also in the Names of all or any of us to assign transfer make over release and extinguish all
       Right Title and Demand which we or any of us now have or may or shall hereafter have in any Lands
       in the said Province of Maryland or other the British Dominions in North America by or in Virtue
       of any Mortgage Judg^e^ment or Decree already passed or which may hereafter be passed hereby
       ratifying allowing and confirming all such Leases demises deeds assurances conveyances covenants
       provisions agreements assignments and Releases which shall at any time hereafter be made acknowledged
       sealled delivered and executed by him the said Henry Riddell touching and concerning the
       Premises      And further also I the said John Glassford for myself  We the said John Glassford
       James Gordon and John Campbell for ourselves otherwise designed James Gordon and Company  And
       We the said John Glassford James Gordon John Campbell Henry Riddell Alexander Low and
       William Ingram otherwise designing ourselves John Glassford and Company  For divers good Causes
       and Considerations us and each of us in this Behalf ensuing have made ordained constituted
       and in our Place and Stead put and deputed and by these Presents do and each of us doth make
       ordain constitute and in our Place and Stead put and depute the said Henry Riddell our true
       and lawful Attorney and Deputy for us and in our Names or in the Name of John Glassford or
       of James Gordon and Company or of John Glassford and Company or of either or any of us and for
       our Use to ask demand sue for recover and receive of and from all and every Person and
       Persons in the British Dominion in North America all such Sum and Sums of Money
       Tobacco Debts Claims and Demands whatsoever which now are or hereafter shall be due
       and owing and appertaining to us or any of us in our different Concerns aforesaid and to use
       and take all lawful Ways and Means in our Names or in the Name of John Glassford or
       of James Gordon and Company or of John Glassford and Company or of any or either of us
       or otherwise for obtaining and procuring the Recovery Receipt or Satisfaction thereof and
       to compound and agree for the same and Releases Acquittances or other Discharges for
       the same for us and in our Names or in the Name of John Glassford or of James Gordon
