                                 On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was Endorsed Viz.t

                                        On the 9.th Day of August 1773 came before us the Subscribers two of his
       Lordships Justices of the Peace for Saint Marys County Naper Mills and John Eden and Acknowledged
4½  the within Deed to be their Act and Deed and the Land and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and
       Estate of the within Justinian Jordan his Heirs & Assigns according to the true Intent and Meaning thereof

       This Indenture made this fifth Day of October one thousand seven hundred and seventy three  Between
       Charles Carroll Esquire Senior of the City of Annapolis of the one Part and Nicholas Sewall of St Marys
       County Esquire Son and Heir at Law of Charles Sewall of Calvert County Gent.n of the other Part  Witnesseth
       that whereas the said Charles Sewall by his Deed bearing Date June the seventeenth one thousand seven
       hundred and thirty two Mortgaged to Benjamin Tasker Charles Carroll and Daniel Carroll Esquires two
       thousand Acres of Land one Moiety of Sewalls Manor laying in Cecil County and whereas the said Charles
       Sewall by his Deed Dated the thirteenth of May one thousand seven hundred and thirty six did release
       his Equity of Redemption of the said Mortgage for the consideration therein mentioned to the said Benjamin
       Tasker Charles Carroll and Daniel Carroll and whereas the said Nicholas Sewall since ^the^ release aforesaid
       hath paid and satisfied to Charles Carroll Party to these Presents the Money due to the said Charles Carroll
       and Daniel Carroll from the said Charles Sewall now This Indenture further Witnesseth that the said
       Charles Carrol for and Consideration of the aforesaid payment and in consideration of the Sum of five
       Shillings Sterling to him in Hand paid by the ^said^ Nicholas Sewall at and before the Sealing and Delivery of these
       Presents the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath bargained Sold and Released and by these Presents
       doth bargain sell and Release unto the said Nicholas Sewall and his Heirs all his the said Charles Carroll and
       Daniel Carrol's Right TItle Claim and Demand of in and to one thousand Acres Part of the said two thousand Acres
       Part of Sewalls Manor  To have and to hold the said one thousand Acres part of Sewalls Manor unto him the
       said Nicholas Sewall his Heirs and Assigns for ever and to ^the only proper use of him the said Nicholas Sewall his Heirs and Assigns for ever and to no other^ no other Use Intent or purpose whatsoever and
       the said Charles Carroll for himself his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns doth hereby covenant to
       warrant and for ever defend unto the said Nicholas Sewall his Heirs and Assigns the said one thousand
       Acres Part of Sewalls Manor against all Persons Whatsoever claiming by from or under him the said Charles
       Carroll and Daniel Carroll their Heirs or Assigns  In Witness whereof and the foregoing Premises the
       said Charles Carroll hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his Seal on the ^Day^ and Year first above Written
