553 Granting Administrations within our said Province ^as^ aforesaid unto you the said William Fitzhugh as you shall see convenient to take and receive to your proper Use and behoof all due and just Fees profits and Emoluments belonging to a Judge of such a Court which have been by us Established or which shall hereafter be by Us or our Governor and Council by our Authority hereafter Established and generally to act do perform and execute all and singular the Powers and Jurisdictions to you hereby granted untill such time as We shall signifie our Will and Pleasure to the Contrary: Witness Our Trusty and well beloved Robert Eden Esq.r Lieutenant General and Chief Governor in and over our said Province this Twenty third day of September in the Third Year of our Dominion Anno Domini One Thousand Seven hundred and Seventy Three Signed by Order (Seale) U Scott Cl Con On the Back of the aforegoing Commission Was thus endorsed Viz 23.d of September 1773 Then Came the Honourable William Fitzhugh Esquire before us the Subscribers two of the Lord Proprietary's Justices of the Provincial Court and Qualified himself as Commissary General of the province of Maryland by taking the several oaths to the Government required by Law repeated the Test and Subscribing the Oath of Abjuration and also by taking the usual Oath of Office W.m Hayward Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer Recorded 23.d Day of September 1773 Maryland sc.t x.d Know all Men by these presents that We William Fitzhugh of Calvert County James Dickinson of Talbot County and Richard Sprigg of the City of Annapolis Esq.rs are held and Firmly bound unto the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary of this Province and his Successors in the full and Just sum of Three Thousand pounds Current Money of Maryland to be paid unto the said Lord Proprietary or his Successors to the which payment well and truly to be made and done We bind ourselves our Heirs Executors and Administrators firmly by these Presents Sealed with our Seals and dated This Twenty third day of September Anno Domini 1773 The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bound William Fitzhugh whilst he shall continue in the Office of Commissary General Shall at his own proper Cost and Charge find a Supply of good and Sufficient Record Books Necessary |
