529) seven Degrees West seven perches to a Tract of Land called Jacks Purchase then with said Land reverse North thirty nine Degrees East one hundred and six perches to a marked white oake standing on the South Bank of a Branch called Cobbs Branch then South fifty four Degrees East eight perches then by a strait Line to the Beginning containing eight acres and one Quarter of an acre be the same more or less together with all ways Waters Water courses Buildings Edifices Improvements Privileges Advantages or Appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining And the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues and Profits thereof And every part thereof To have and To hold the said demised premisses with the Appurtenances and every part thereof unto him the said William Buchanan his Heirs and Assigns for ever to the only proper Use and Behoof of him the said William Buchanan his Heirs and assigns for ever and to or for no other Use Intent or Purpose whatsoever And the said Edward Brown for himself and his Heirs the said demised premisses with the appurtenances unto him the said William Buchanan his Heirs and Assigns against him the said Edward Brown his Heirs and Assigns and all and every other Person or Persons claiming or to claim by from or under him them or either of them shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents In Witness whereof the parties to these Presents have hereunto interchangeably set their Hands and seals the Day and year first above written Signed Sealed and delivered In presence of Before signing the words lying and being in Frederick County were inserted between the Edward Brown (seal) tenth and eleventh Lines on the first side R Buchanan John MCalister On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus endorsed viz.t Received the day and year within written of the within named William Buchanan the sum of five shillings it being the Consideration within mentioned to be by him paid to me Test R Buchanan Edward Brown Be it remembered that on the eighteenth day of June 1773 Edward Brown party to the within Indenture acknowledged the same as his Act and Deed and the Lands and premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within named William Buchanan his Heirs and assigns according to the true Intent and meaning thereof and Margaret the wife of the said Edward Brown being by us examined apart from and out of the Hearing of her said Husband did acknowledge that she released to the said William Buchanan all her Right and Claim of Dower in the said Lands and that she made this Release of her own Free will and not induced thereto by any threats of her said Husband or for Fear of his Displeasure John Moale And Buchanan |
