481) writing of these deponents respectively Sworn at Liverpool aforesaid this twenty eight day H.t Hanson of November in the year of our Lord One thousand Sam.l Chace Seven hundred and seventy two Before me John Boorn Tho Golightly Mayor I Thomas Golightly Esquire Mayor of the Borough and Corporation of Liverpool in the County of Lancaster and Kingdom of Great Britain Do hereby certify to all to whom these presents shall come or may concern That the above named Halbert Hanson Samuel Chace and John Boorn being persons well known and worthy of good Credit did on this present twenty Eight day of November in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy two personally come and appear before me and by Solemn Oath which they then took upon the holy Evangelists of Almighty God did declare and depose that the several matters and things mentioned and set forth in the above affidavit are true And I do hereby further certify that at the same time personnally came and appeared before me allan Pearson of Liverpool aforesaid Merchant one of the parties to the said Deed or Indenture hereunto annexed and did acknowledge that he duly executed the same before the said Halbert Hanson Samuel Chace and John Boorn the subscribing witnesses thereto In Testimony and Confirmation whereof I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal od Mayoralty of the said Borough and Corporation of Liverpool to be affixed this twenty eighth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy two Tho Golightly Mayor 54 sides Recorded the twenty seventh day of April 1773 X.d This Indenture made this Ninth day of March in the year seventeen hundred and seventy three between Katharine Griffith Widow of Orlando Griffith and daughter and devisee of John Howard of Ann Arundel County deceased of the one part and Charles Ridgely (son of John) of Baltimore County Gent.an of the other part Witnesseth that the said Katherine Griffith for and in Consideration of ^the sum^ Five shillings Current Money to her in hand paid at and before the sealing of these presents the receipt whereof she doth hereby acknowledge and the said Charles his Executors & administrators doth for ever exonerate and acquit Hath Granted Bargained and sold and by these presents doth Grant Bargain and Sell unto him the said Charles Ridgely his Executors Administrators and Assigns a Certain Tract or parcel of Land situate lying and being in Baltimore County called Timber Neck and on the North Side of Potapsico River and on a branch called the middle Branch beginning at a bounded red Oak at the mouth of a Small Gutt that makes the outward narrows of a Neck of Land called the Island and running for Breadth by a line drawn North East |
