455 Hath given Granted bargained and sold and doth by these presents five Grant bargain and sell unto the said Charles Ridgely his heirs and assigns for ever All that Tract or parcell of Land called Poplar Plains lying and being in Ann Arundel County On the North Side of a Creek of Potapsco River called the Bodkin Creek To Have and to Hold the said Tract of Land with the appurtenances unto the said Charles Ridgely his Heirs and Assigns to the only Use and Behoof of the said Charles Ridgely his Heirs and Assigns for ever And the said Jacob and Thomas Winchester for themselves and their Heirs do hereby severally covenant promise and grant to and with the said Charles Ridgely and his Heirs in Manner and form following to wit That they the said Jacob and Thomas and their and each of their Heirs severally the aforesaid Tract of Land called poplar plains with the appurtenances unto the said Charles Ridgely and his Heirs against them the said Jacob and Thomas and their Heirs respectively and against all persons claiming from them and their Heirs shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents and that they the said Jacob and Thomas and their and each of their Heirs respectively shall and will at any Time hereafter upon the reasonable Request & at the proper Costs and Charges in the Law of the said Charles Ridgely his Heirs or Assigns make do acknowledge suffer and execute or cause or procure the same to be done all and every such further Act Conveyance and Assurance in the Law be the same by Recovery or otherwise howsoever for the further and better conveying and assuring the Lands aforesaid to the said Charles Ridgely and his Heirs for ever as by the said Charles Ridgely his Heirs or Assigns or his or their Council Learned in the Law shall be reasonably advised or required and so as such Conveyance or Assurance contain no other warranty than against the sid Jacob and Thomas and their Heirs In Witness whereof the said Jacob and Thomas have hereunto set their Hands and Seals the Day and Year first above written Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of Jacob Winchester (seal) Tho.s French Samuel Chase Thomas Winchester (seal) On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t Maryland to wit Be it remembered that on the seventeenth day of April Seventeen hundred and Seventy three personally appeared before Me one of his Lordships Justices of the honourable provincial Court the within Named Jacob and Thomas Winchester and severally acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be their Act and Deed and the land and premisses within Mentioned to be the Estate of the within named Charles Ridgely his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true Intent and Meaning of the said Deed and according to the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided 5 sides Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer Recorded 17.th April 1773 x.d This Indenture made this fifteenth Day of April in the Year of Our Lord seventeen hundred and seventy three Between Benjamin Wallingsford of Barckley County in the Colony of Virginia of the one Part and James Wallingsford of Ann Arundel County in the Province of Maryland of the other part Witnesseth that the said Benjamin Wallingsford for and in Consideration of the sum of sixty Pounds Current Money to him in hand paid by the said James Wallingsford the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and Confirmed and by these Presents |
