443) or them In Witness whereof he hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his Seal the day and year above written Signed seled & Delivered Anastasy O Arom In presances of us Ann Harragan Thomas Sligh (seal) On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t November 23.d 1772 Then received of Job Garretson the sum of twenty pounds Current ^money^ it the Consideration Money within expressed I say Reevd pr me Witness Tho Sligh his Anastasy O Arom mark November 23.d 1772 Came before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of the peace the within Namd Thomas Sligh and acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be his Act and Deed and the Lands and premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within named Job Garretson and his heirs for ever according to the Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided Taken before March the 31.st 1773 Received of M.r Job Garretson the Sum of One half penny Sterling Money for an Alienation fine due to Lord Baltimore by virtue of a John Moale Commission from Dan.l of Saint Tho.s Jenifer Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General of this province sides Recorded the 31.st of March 1773 John Brice W.m Spear x.d Maryland fs.t Know all men by these presents That Levin Ballard of Sommerset County in the Province aforesaid Merchant owner of the Good Ship or Vessell called the Sommerset now on the Stocks in Sommerset County aforesaid of the Burthen of Two hundred and fifty Tons or thereabouts As well for and in consideration of divers and Several Sums of Money to him in hand heretofore paid by Messieurs Hudson & Lawson of Baltimore Town Merchants As also for and in Consideration of the Sum of Twenty Shillings Sterling Money to him in hand well and truly paid by the said Hudson and Lawson the Receit whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge and himself therewith fully sattisffed Contented and paid Hath granted bargained and Sold And by these presents Doth grant bargain and sell unto them the said Hudson and Lawson their Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns All and Singular the aforesaid Ship or Vessel called the Sommerset of the Burthen of Two Hundred and fifty Tons or thereabouts Together with all Necessaries and appurtenances thereunto belonging or hereafter to belong when fully compleated or in any wise appertaining To have and to Hold all and Singular the said hereby bargained Premisses with all and every the appurtenances unto the said Hudson and Lawson their Heirs and Assigns for ever And the said Levin Ballard for himself his Heirs Executors Administrators and every of them Doth hereby Covenant Promise Grant and agree to and with the said Hudson and Lawson their Heirs Executors Administrators and every of them by these presents That he the said Levin Ballard his Executors Administrators and every of them the said Ship or Vessel Sommerset with all and every Appurtenances unto them the said Hudson and Lawson from and against him the said Levin Ballard and his Heirs and against all and every other person and Persons whatsoever Claiming or to Claim the same or any part thereof shall and will Warrant and for ever Defend by these presents And the said Levin Ballard doth also Covenant to Compleat and finish the said Vessel agreeable to Contracts intend into the fourteenth day of May last past And the |
