414 The aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t Sept.r 4.th 1772 reced of James Tilghman within mentioned the Sum of Five Shillings Sterling being the Consideration Money within mentioned to be paid me by him Witness J Rogers Ja Hollyday On the fourth day of September 1772 came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court the within James Hollyday and James Tilghman and severally and respectively acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be their respective Act and Deed to and for the Uses Intents and Purposes therein Specified before P Hepburn 8 sides Recorded 5.th Day of November 1772 x.d Maryland fs.t This Indenture made this twenty sixth day of June One thousand seven hundred and seventy two Between Corbin Lee of Baltimore County Gentleman ^of the one part^ and Archibald Buchanan of the same County and Province Merchant of the other part Whereas the said Corbin Lee now is and standeth Justly Indebted unto the said Archibald Buchanan his Executors Administrators and Assigns in divers Considerable Sums of Money upon Account and otherwise Amounting in the whole to the Sum of Nine hundred and eighty three pounds seven Shillings and eight pence Sterling and nine hundred and nine pounds fourteen Shillings and Eight Pence Current Money As by the Books of him the said Archibald Buchanan and other writings relation thereto being had may more fully and at Large appear Now This Indenture Witnesseth that the said Corbin Lee as well for and in Consideration of the Securing the payment of the said Sum of Nine hundred and eighty three pounds Seven Shillings and eight pence Sterling and nine hundred and nine pounds fourteen Shillings and eight pence Current Money As also for and in Consideration of the Sum of Five Shillings Sterling money to him the said Corbin Lee in hand well and truly paid by the said Archibald Buchanan at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents The receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge and himself therewith fully Satisfied Contented and Paid Hath Granted Bargained and Sold Aliened Assigned Released Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these Presents doth grant bargain and sell Alien Assign release Enfeoff and Confirm unto him the said Archibald Buchanan his Heirs and Assigns for ever All that Tract or parcel of Land Called Adventure situate lying and being in Baltimore County and containing One thousand Acres of Land more or less heretofore purchased by the said Corbin Lee of a certain William Murdock late of Prince Georges County Gentleman deceased Together with all Rights Liberties Priviledges Hereditaments and Appurtenances whatsoever to the same or any part thereof in any wise belonging or Appurtaining And Also all the Estate Right Title Interest use Possession Trust Property Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said Corbin Lee either in Law or Equity of into or out of either the said Real or personall Estate above mentioned or of in or to or out of any Part or Parcel thereof To have and to hold all and Singular the above mentioned Tract or parcel of Land and premisses and every the Appurtenances unto the said Tract of Land belonging or in any ways Appertaining unto him the said Archibald Buchanan his Heirs and Assigns for ever To the only proper use and behoof of him the Said Archibald Buchanan his Heirs and Assigns for ever Provided Nevertheless and it is the true Intent and meaning of these presents that if the said Corbin Lee his Heirs Executors Administrators or any of them do and shall well and truely pay and Cause to be paid unto him the said Archibald Buchanan his Executors Administrators or Assigns the above mentioned Sum of Nine hundred and Eighty three pounds Seven Shillings and Eight Pence Sterling and nine hundred and nine pounds fourteen shillings and Eight pence Current Money Also all Damages Costs anc Charges which hath allready or shall hereafter arise on Bills of Exchange being protested at or upon the first day of June next ensuing the date hereof That then and from thenceforth not only this present Indenture but also all other Estates both real and personall hereby Granted shall thereupon Cease determine and become Absolutely Null and Void to all Intents and purposes whatsoever any thing herein before Contained to the Contrary notwithstanding In Witness whereof the said parties have to these Presents |
