39 On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t Received on the day and Year first within mentioned of & from the within Named Thomas Hill Airey the Sum of five Shillings Sterling being the Consideration Money within mentioned to be by him paid to me Test I sat reced by Thomas Pitt On the fourth day of September 1770 Then Came before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for Dorchester County the within Named Thomas Pitt and John Murray and did Severall acknowledge the within Deed to be their Act and Deed to and for the Uses and Purposes within mentioned and the Lands and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right & Estate of the said Thomas Hill Airey his Heirs & Assigns forever according to the True Intent & meaning of the same Deed and the Act of Assembly in such Case made & Provided In Testimony whereof we hereto set our Hands the day and Year aforesaid W.m Ennalls Recorded 12.th Septem.r 1770 13½ sides John Dickinson X.d This Indenture made the fourteenth day of September in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and seventy Between Ann Ogle of the City of Annapolis in the Province of Maryland Widow and Robert Carter of the Colony of Virginia Esquire of the one part and Daniel Dulany of the City of Annapolis aforesaid Esquire of the other part Whereas the said Ann Ogle and Robert Carter by Virtue of a certain Deed indented bearing date on or about the eighth day of March last past made between the said Joseph Galloway of the one part and them the said Ann Ogle and Robert Carter of the other part are and stand legally seized and Possessed or are by some other means or in other Manner intitled as Trustees of in and unto one full undivided fifth part or Share of the Iron Works commonly called the Baltimore Iron Works in which is included one undivided fifth part of all Furnaces Forges Lands Tenements Hereditaments Goods Chattels Slaves Servants Utensils Provisions Debts Ore Coal and Stock of every kind belonging or reputed to belong to the Company commonly called the Baltimore Company which same undivided fifth part (save and Except all Barr Iron made at the said Works between the thirtieth day of December last past and the fourth day of this Instant Month of September) was by them the said Ann Ogle and Robert Carter on the fourth day of this Instant September on the Premisses set up and Exposed to Sale by way of Public Vendue Pursuant to and after Public Notice thereof given in the Maryland Virginia and Pensylvania Gazettes by many weeks successive Advertisements at which same Vendue the aforesaid Daniel Dulany was the best and highest Bidder at and for the Price and Sum of Six thousand one Hundred and fifty Pounds Sterling Now This Indenture Witnesseth that the said Ann Ogle and Robert Carter for and in Consideration of the said Sum of Six Thousand one hundred and fifty Pounds Sterling to them in hand paid by the said Daniel Dulany at or before the Sealing and Delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and thereof & therefrom do release Acquit and Discharge the said Daniel Dulany his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns and every of them by these Presents Have granted bargained sold Aliened released and Confirmed and by these Presents Do (grant) |
