368 and be deemed and take to be to the Use and Behoof of the aforesaid William Chizum and his Heirs and Assigns In Witness the Parties to these presents have interchangeably set their Hands and affixed their Seals the Day and Year above written Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of William Chizum (seal) Geo Chalmers Caleb Smoot (Seal) Sam.l Chase (The above Deed was thus endorsed) Maryland fs.t On the twenty second Day of September seventeen hundred and Seventy two came the within named William Chizum before me the Subscriber one of his Lordship's the Lord proprietary his Justices of the provincial Court of the Province of Maryland and acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be his proper Act and Deed and the premisses with the Appurtenances to him the said Caleb Smoot & his Heirs according to the Intent and Meaning of the within Deed and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided sides Taken and acknowledged before W.m Hayward Recorded 22.d September 1772 Exam.d This Indenture made this first Day of September in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred and seventy two Between Greenberry Ridgely of Ann Arundel County in the Province of Maryland Gent of the one Part and Joseph Watson of same County and Province aforesaid Planter of the other part Witnesseth that the said Greenberry Ridgely for and in Consideration of the Sum of ten Shillings Sterling to him in Hand paid at or before the Ensealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and (thereof) |
