308 same his and their Heirs and Assigns forever as shall be needfull and requisite for the doing thereof giving and by these Presents granting unto my said Attornies jointly or either of them singly full Power and absolute Authority to do execute and perform any Act or Acts Thing or Things whatsoever that shall be needfull and necessary to be done touching or concerning the Premisses or the recovering the Possession or the settling conveying and assuring thereof to such Person or Persons as shall purchase the same in as full and ample Manner to all Intents and Purposes as I the said Adam Carlyle might or could do if I was then and there personally present and also ratifying allowing and confirming all and whatsoever my said Attornies or either of them shall do or cause to be done by Virtue and according to the true Intent and Meaning of these Presents In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the twenty second Day of April in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy one Signed sealed and delivered the (paper being first duly stamped) In the Presence of The word Adam Carlyle (LS) "second" being first int.r lined Henry Spence And which I attest also as Witness my Hand & Seal Jacob White (LS) Hen Littledale Publick Notary in Whitehaven in Cumberland To which aforegoing Power of attorney was annexed as follows to wit Fairfax County Virginia August 17.th 1771 This Day came Henry Spence Master of the Ship Orange before us two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the said County and made Oath on the holy Evangelists of Almighty God that he saw Adam Carlyle Esq.r of Cumberland County in England sign seal and acknowledge the annexed Power of Attorney to George Chalmers Esq.r Attorney at Law in Maryland and Charles Little Gent and further that he saw Jacob White the other subscribing Witness to the said Power of Attorney subscribe his Name in the Presence and at the Request of the said Adam Carlyle Sworn before W.m Ramsay (LS) John West jun.r (LS) Virginia Fairfax County to wit I hereby certify that William Ramsay and John West Junior ^Gentlemen^ before whom the above Affadavit is taken were at the Time of taking the same and stil are two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid and that to all probates by them so signed due Credit is and ought to be given in Justice Court and thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereunto (LS) set my Hand and affixed the public Seal of the County aforesaid this xx.th Day of August Ann Dom 1771 Pet Wagener Cl Cur Recorded the 24.th Day of April 1772 x.d This Indenture made this thirteenth Day of April in the Year of our Lord seventeen hundred and seventy two Between William Waller of Somerset County Planter of the one Part and John Crockett of same County Planter of the other Part Witnesseth that the said William Waller 7½ Sides (for) |
