307 perfected whereto the Parties to these presents or any of them are or shall be parties of or concerning the Premisses shall be and enure and shall be adjudged, construed, deemed and taken to be and enure and the said John Worthington and his Heirs and all and every other Person and persons who shall then or any Time hereafter stand seized of the premisses or any part thereof by Virtue of these Presents or of the said Common Recovery or Recoveries shall so stand and be seized thereof to the only proper Use and Behoof of the aforesaid John Worthington his Heirs and Assigns forever In Witness whereof the Parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their Hands and affixed their Seals the Day and Year first above written her Signed Sealed and delivered Catherine | Griffith (LS) in the presence of Mark Rich.d Yeates John Worthington (LS) J.s Hawkins Th.s Johnson Jun.r (LS) Received on the Day and Year first within written of and from the within named John Worthington the Sum of ten pounds current money being the Consideration Money within mentioned to be by him paid to me I say received by Witness her Rich.d Yeates Catherine | Griffith Mark On the sixteenth Day of April 1772 Came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Provincial Justices the within named Catharine Griffith John Worthington and Thomas Johnson Jun.r and severally acknowledged the within and above written Indenture to be their respective Act and Deed and the part of the Tract of Land within mentioned with the Appurtenances to be the Right and Estate of the aforesaid John Worthington his Heirs and Assigns forever according to the true Intent and Meaning of the within Deed and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided Taken before J Hepburn Recorded the 24.th Day of April 1772 Ex.d Know all Men by these Presents that I Adam Carlyle late of Lyme Kilns in North Britain but now of Brampton in the County of Cumberland Esquire eldest Son and Heir at 8 sides at Law of Alexander Carlyle late of Hopewell in Somerset County Maryland Merchant deceased Have made, ordained, authorized, constituted and appointed and by these presents do make, ordain, authorize, constitute and appoint George Chalmers Esquire Attorney at Law in Maryland and Charles Little of Alexandria in Virginia, Gentleman my true and lawful Attornies jointly and severally for me and in my Name to enter into upon and take Possession of an Estate or Plantation at Hopewell aforesaid and all other the Estates and Plantations which belonged to my said late Father with their and every of their Appurtenances and in Case any person or persons shall refuse to yield and deliver up the Possession of the said Premisses or any Part thereof for me and in my Name to commence and prosecute any Suit or Suits by Ejectment or otherwise for recovering the possession thereof and after quiet and peace^a^ble possession obtained had and taken for me and in my Name to grant bargain and sell the same and also all my Estate right Title Interest Claim and Demand whatsoever of in and unto the said premisses and every Part and Parcel thereof to such Person or Persons as my said Attornies or either of them shall think fit his and their Heirs and Assigns forever And also for me and in my Name Place and Stead to execute, seal, and deliver such Conveyances and Assurances of the said Premisses or any Part thereof unto such person or persons as shall purchase the (same) |
