304 x.d This Indenture made this thirteenth Day of April in the Year of our Lord seventeen hundred and Seventy two Between Richard Gott of Baltimore County Planter of the one Part and Richard Weems of Ann Arundel County Gentleman ^of the other Part^ Witnesseth that the said Richard Gott for and in Consideration of the Sum of four hundred sides Pounds Current Money to him in Hand paid at or before the Ensealing and Delivery of these Presents, the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and thereof and therefrom the said Richard Gott doth acquit and discharge the said Richard Weems his Heirs, Executors, and Administrators and for the docking barring and extinguishing all Estates, Tail and all Reversions and Remainders thereupon depending hath bargained, sold, remised, released, and confirmed, and by these Presents doth bargain, sell, remise, release, and confirm unto him the said Richard Weems his Heirs and Assigns all that Tract or Parcel of Land called Barren Point situate lying and being in Annarundel County & containing forty Acres And also all that Tract or Parcel of Land called Paschals Chance situate lying and being in the said County and containing two hundred Acres which said Tracts of Land are now in the actual Possession of the said Richard Weems together with all and singular the Houses, Edifices, Buildings, and Improvements and Appurtenances to the said Several Tracts of Land or either of them belonging and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders, Rents, Issues, and Profits thereof and of every Part and Parcel thereof and all the Estate, Right, Title, Interest, Use, Trust, Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said Richard Gott of in, to, or out of the said Premisses hereby sold and released or intended so to be to have and to hold the said several Tracts of Land and the Premisses with the Appurtances aforesaid to him the said Richard Weems his Heirs and Assigns to the Intent and Purpose to make a good and perfect Tenant of the Freehold of all and singular the Lands Tenements and Hereditaments hereby sold and conveyed or intended so to be that a good and perfect common Recovery in the Nature of Recoveries of the Assurance of Land may in due Form of Law may be suffered and perfected at the next or some subsequent Provincial Court and it is hereby declared by all the Parties to these Presents and the true Intent and meaning of said Recovery is that the same shall be and enure and the Recoveror or Recoverors in such common Recovery his and their Heirs shall stand and be seised of all and singular the Lands Tenements and Hereditaments in such Recovery respectively contained to and for the Use of the said Richard Weems his Heirs and Assigns for ever and to and for no other Use Intent or Purpose whatsoever In Witness whereof the said Richard Gott hath hereunto set his Hand and Seal the Day and Year above written Signed sealed and delivered Richard Gott (Seal) in Presence of "the Words" (four hundred Pounds current Money) being first interlined W.m Paca Nic Thomas 23 April 1772 then came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court the within mentioned Richard Gott and acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed and the several Tracts of Land within mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the said Richard Weems his Heirs and Assigns and at the same Time came Margaret Gott the Wife of the sid Richard Gott and being by me privately examined apart and out of the Hearing of her said Husband acknowledged that she relinquished all her Right of Dower in the within Lands and every Part thereof and that she did the same freely and voluntarily without any Threats from her said Husband or Fear of his Displeasure W.m Hayward (23 Ap) |
