292 of her own free Will & Consent without being induced thereto by any Threats of her said Husband or for Fear of his Displeasure Jon.a Plowman J Beale Howard Ja.s Gittings Baltimore County fs.t I hereby certify that Jonathan Plowman John Beale Howard & James Gittings Gentlemen before whom the above acknowledgements were taken & who have thereto subscribed their Names were at the Day of the Date thereof & still are three of his Lordships the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary his Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid & to all Certificates given by them as such due Faith & Credit is & ought to be given as well in Courts of Justice as thereout (L.S.) In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my Hand & affixed the Public Seal of the County aforesaid this nineteenth Day of December seventeen hundred & seventy one A Lawson Clk of Balt County Court Recorded the 21st Day of December 1771 Fees Charged thus far for 1771 X.d Ann Arrundel County This Indenture made the fourteenth Day of December Anno Maryland fs.t Domini one thousand seven hundred and seventy one, Between Isaac Simmons of Ann Arrundel County Planter of the one Part and John Shekell of the said County Planter of the other Part, Witnesseth that the said Isaac Simmons for and in Consideration of the Sum of two hundred thirty two Pounds seventeen Shillings and six Pence Sterling Money to him in Hand paid by the said John Shekel at or before the Ensealing and Delivering of these Presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath bargained and sold and by these Presents doth bargain and sell unto the said John Shekell and his Heirs all that Part of a Tract of Land called Hard Bargain lying ^in^ the County aforesaid and within the following Metes and Bounds viz.t Beginning for the said Part at a bounded black Walnut Tree and runing thence South eighty eight Degrees thirty three Minutes Westerly one hundred and sixty one Perches and seven tenths of a Perch to a bounded Hickory standing on a Ridge at the Foot of which is fixed a Stone marked GP N.o 12 which said Hickory and Stone being the twelvth Boundary of a Tract being Part of the said Manor called Greenwick Park standing at the End of the eleventh Line of the said Tract thence running with the said Land the aforesaid Line revers'd Viz.t North one Degree twenty one Minutes Westerly one hundred and three perches and three fifths of a Perch to a Mulberry Post and a Stone fixed on the North Side thereof marked GP N.o 11 fixed on the Side of a steep Hill on the North side of a Branch the said Post and Stone being the eleventh Boundary of the aforesaid Tract called Greenwick Park as also the South westermost Corner boundary of another Tract being Part of the said Manor ^Re^surveyed for M.r John Shekell called Bear Ridge and being the End of the fourth Line of the said Tract thence running with the said mentioned Tract the fourth Line thereof reversed Viz.t North eighty eight Degrees fifty two Minutes easterly one hundred and sixty three perches to a Mulberry Post on the Side of a Hill in the Edge of an old Field being the fourth boundary of Bear Ridge aforesaid and standing at the End of the third Line thereof thence runing South forty seven Minutes easterly one hundred and one Perches and one third of a Perch to the bounded black Walnut Tree the beginning above mentioned containing and now laid out for one hundred and three Acres and three Quarters of an Acre of Land more or less with all and singular the Appurtenances |
