288 On the seventh Day of December seventeen hundred & seventy one came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordship's Provincial Justices the within James Dick & acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act & Deed & the Lands & Premises therein & thereby conveyed to be the Right & Estate of the same John Buchanan his Heirs & Assigns according to the true Intent & Meaning thereof Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer December the 7th 1771 Received of M.r John Buchanan the Sum of four Pounds Eighteen Shillings and Six Pence as an Alienation Fine for the within Lands Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer Agent & Rec.r Gen.l Recorded the 7th Day of December 1771 18 Sides X.d This Indenture made this seventh Day of December in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & seventy one Between James Dick of London Town in Ann Arundel County Merchant of the one Part & Alexander McDonald of the City of Annapolis in the same County Gardiner of the other Part Witnesseth that the said James for & in Consideration of the Yearly Rents & Covenants herein after reserved mentioned & contained on the Part & Behalf of the said Alexander his Executors Administrators & Assigns to be kept & performed Hath demised granted & to Farm let, And by these Presents Doth demise grant & to Farm let unto the same Alexander McDonald all that Piece or Parcel of Ground being Part of a Tract or Parcel of Land situate lying & being in Ann Arundell County aforesaid called Todds Range beginning at a Stone now set up near a Poplar Tree on the South Side of the Road leading from Annapolis aforesaid to Patapsico Ferry & running thence North eighty four Degrees West thirty one Perches then South twenty two Perches & nine Links then South seventy two Degrees & a half East ten Perches & one half of a Perch then North sixty nine Degrees East twenty four Perches & twenty two Links thence nearly North eleven Degrees West thirteen Perches & sixteen Links to the Beginning containing four Acres & eight Perches & no more with the Appurtenances thereto belonging To have & to hold the said Piece or Parcell of Ground with the appurtenances unto the said Alexander his Executors Administrators & Assigns for & during & untill the full End and Term of twenty one Years from the thirteenth Day of August last past & fully to be compleat & ended yielding & paying therefore yearly & every Year during the said Term unto him the said James Dick his Heirs & Assigns the yearly Rent of six Pounds Sterling (Money) |
