                   On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus endorsed to wit

       1771 September 11.th came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordship's Justices of
       the Provincial Court for the Province of Maryland Greenbury Shipley & acknowledged
       the within Deed to be his Act and Deed and the Land and Premises therein mentioned
       to be the Right and Estate of the within named Samuel Chase Esquire his Heirs
       and Assigns for ever according to the true Intent and Meaning of the same Deed &
       the Act of Assembly in such Cases made and provided   At the same Time came
       Elizabeth Shipley wife of the said Greenbury Shipley and being by me privately
       examined apart from and out of the Hearing of her said Husband relinquished &
       acknowledged all her Right of Dower to the within Land to the said Samuel Chase
       his Heirs and Assigns and at the same Time declared that she did the same freely
       and willingly without being induced thereto by Fear or Threats of or ill usage from
       her said Husband or Fear of his Displeasure
                                                    acknowledged before      W.m Hayward

       Received on the Day and Year within written of and from the within named Samuel
       Chase the Sum of forty Pounds Current Money being the Consideration Money within
       mentioned to be by him paid to me                  received by me

       Received of Samuel Chase Esq.r the Sum of five Pence Sterling for the Use of Lord
       Baltimore it being the Alienation Money on the within Land by Virtue of a
       Commission from John Morton Jordan Esq.r his said Lordship's Agent and Receiver General

                                     Recorded the 2.d Day of October 1771

       This Indenture made the sixth Day of September in the Year of our Lord
       Christ seventeen hundred se^ve^nty and one Between John Carvill of Kent County in
       Maryland of the one Part and John Beale Bordley of the same Province of the other Part
       Witnesseth that the said John Carvill for and in Consideration of the Sum of twelve
       hundred pounds Current Money to him by the said John beale Bordley ^in^ hand paid the
       Receipt whereof he doth acknowledged & therefrom doth hereby release and acquit
