254 Range containing one hundred and twelve Acres of Land P Henry Dickinson Receiver D Coty Recorded the 30th Day of Sept.r 1771 X.d This Indenture made this fourteenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy one Between Greenbury Shipley off Baltimore County in the Province of Maryland Planter of the one Part and Samuel Chase Esquire of the City of Annapolis and Province aforesaid on the other Part Witnesseth that he the said Greenbury Shipley for & in Consideration of the Sum of forty Pounds Current Money to him in hand paid by the said Samuel Chase the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and thereof doth acquit & discharge the said Samuel Chase his Heirs and Assigns for ever Doth grant bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said Samuel Chase his Heirs and Assigns forever All that Tract or Parcell of Land called Beyond your Pockett containing ten Acres lying in Baltimore County and Province aforesaid Begining at a bounded Spanish Oak & a white Oak standing on the South Side of middle Run and runing thence South eighty five Degrees west forty Perches, North ^thirty one Degrees West forty Perches North^ fifty four Degrees East eleven Perches, South twenty three Degrees ^East^ fifty three Perches and then with a straight Line to the Begining containing and laid out for ten Acres more or less To have and to hold al the aforesaid Tract or Parcell of Land together with the Appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Samuel Chase his Heirs and Assigns for ever to his and their only proper Use and Behoof and the said Greenbury Shipley doth for himself his Heirs and Assigns covenant grant and agree to and with the said Samuel Chase his Heirs and Assigns all the aforesaid Tract or Parcell of Land and Premises unto him the said Samuel Chase his Heirs and Assigns will warrant and defend for ever against all Persons claiming from by or under him the said Greenbury Shipley In Witness whereof the said Greenbury hath hereunto set his Hand and Seal the Day and Year above written As witness Greenbury Shipley (Seal) Sealed & Delivered In Presence of us, the words "will warrant & defend" being first interlined and the word "September" in the first Line also interlined J Rogers Rob.t Alexander |
