242 our said Attorney shall think requisite and necessary as fully freely and effectually in every REspect and to all Intents and Purposes whatsoever as we might or could do in proper Person and as if we actually did the same ourselves and Attornies one or more under him our sad Attorney for the Purposes aforesaid all or any of them and with the like unlimited Powers to make and substitute and again at his Pleasure to revoke from Time to Time as he shall judge necessary hereby ratifying confirming & allowing as firm and valid all and whatsoever our said Attorney or his Substitute or Substitutes shall lawfully do or cause to be done in or about the Premises by Virtue of these Presents And revoking, anulling and making void all former Powers or Letters of Attorney made by us that might stop or hinder the Execution of the Powers granted by these Presents In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our Hands and Seals at Glasgow aforesaid the ninth Day of May in the Year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and seventy one Signed Sealed and Executed James Simson (Seal) being first duly stamped John Baird (Seal) In the Presence of John Rowand Witness Alex Crighton (Seal) John Luke Witness On the Back of the aforegoing Power of Attorney was thus endorsed to wit To all to whom these Presents shall come I Colin Dunlop Esquire Lord Provost and Chief Magistrate of the City of Glasgow in North Britain, in Pursuance of an Act of Parliament made and passed in the fifth Year of the Reign of his late Majesty King George the second entitled an Act for the more easy Recovery of Debts in his Majesties Plantations and Colonies in America Do hereby certify that on the Day of the Date of these Presents, John Rowand and John Luke both of the sid City of Glasgow Merchant (being both Persons well known & worthy of good Credit personally came and appeared before me and by solemn Oath which they then severally took before me upon the holy Evangelists of Almighty God they did solemnly and sincerely declare testify & depose that they the said Deponents were present and did see the within named James Simson John Baird and Alexander Crighton sign seal and execute as their proper Act and Deed the Instrument of Writing or Power of Attorney within written and that the Names James Simpson, John Baird and Alexander Crighton thereunto set (as) |
