204 On the Back of the aforegoing ^Deed^ was thus Endorst to wit I acknowledge to have received this Day of M.r Harry Dorsey Gough within mentioned his Bills for the within Sum of fourteen hundred & Eighty Pounds sixteen Shillings Sterling for and on the Behalf of the within Grantors in Virtue of the Power of Attorney within recited Test Dan.l Dulany And Buchanan On the twenty sixth Day of June 1771 the within named Daniel Dulany & Walter Dulany in Pursuance of the Power & Authority by the within recited Letter of Attorney in them vested acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing in the names of the therein mentioned Andrew Theodore William Benedict, Thomas Jacob and Jane Bourdillion & each of them as & for their & each of their Act & Deed & the Land & Premises thereby conveyed to be the Right and Estate of the within named Harry Dorsey Gough according to the Form and Effect of the Act of Assembly in such Case made & provided before Benjamin Rogers And Buchanan Baltimore County to wit, I hereby Certifie that Messieurs Benjamin Rogers and Andrew Buchanan ^Gentlemen^ before whom the above Acknowledgments were made & who have thereto subscribed their Names were at the Day of the Date thereof & still are two of his Lordships the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary his Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid & to all Certificates given by them as such due Faith and Credit is and ought to be given as well in Courts of Judicature as thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my Hand & affixed the publick Seal of the County aforesaid the Nineteenth Day of July seventeen hundred & seventy one A Lawson Clk Reced of Harry Dorsey Gough six pence Sterling as an alienation Fine for the within Lotts by Direction of John Morton Jordan Esq.r Agent for the Propry Tho.s Jones Recorded this 1.st Day of August 1771 x.d This Indenture made the thirty first Day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven seven hundred & seventy one Between Mary Strachan, John Davidson and Eleanor his Wife and Margaret Strachan of Ann Arundel County in the Province of Maryland of the one Part, and James Dick of the same County and Province, Merchant, of the other part Witnesseth that the said Mary Strachan, John Davidson and Eleanor his Wife, and Margaret Strachan for and in Consideration of the Sum of one Pound three Shillings and seven Pence half penny ^Sterling^ to them in hand paid by the said James Dick at or before the Ensealing and Delivery of these Presents, the Receipt whereof they and each of them doth hereby acknowledge and of and from every Part and Parcel thereof doth clearly and absolutely acquit and discharge the said James Dick his Heirs Executors & Administrators & every of them by these Presents Hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, ^enfeoffed^ released and confirmed and by these Presents, Doth grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto him the said James Dick his Heirs and Assigns for ever all that Piece or Parcel of Land being Part of Scorton and Burge lying & being in Ann Arundel County (aforesaid) |
