195 sum of six hundred and seventy six Pounds nineteen Shillings and nine pence Sterling on or before the thirtieth Day of June which shall be in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy seven and also shall pay to the aforesaid Charles Carroll his Executors Admrs or Assigns yearly and every Year legal Interest on the said Sum of six hundred and seventy six pounds nineteen Shillings and nine pence sterling Then this Indenture & every Clause Matter and Thing therein contained shall cease determine and be void And the said Joseph Ensor for himself his heirs Executors and Adm.rs doth hereby covenant and grant to and with the aforesaid Charles Carroll his Exors and Administrators that he the said Joseph Ensor his Executors and Administrators will well and truly pay the said sum of six hundred and seventy six Pounds nineteen Shillings and nine Pence Sterling with legal Interest thereon according to the provisoe aforesaid and at the respective times therein mentioned. In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents have hereunto interchangeably set their Hands and affixed their Seals the Day and Year first above written Signed Sealed and delivered in the Presence of Joseph Ensor (Seal) Thomas Johnson Jun.r Baker Johnson On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus indorsed to wit Received on the Day and Year first within written of and from the within named Charles Carroll the Sum of six hundred and seventy six pounds nineteen Shillings and nine Pence Sterling being the Consideration Money within mentioned to be by him paid to me Witness I say received by Joseph Ensor Thomas Johnson Jun.r Baker Johnson On the second Day of July 1771 Came before us the Subscribers two of his Lordship's Justices for Baltimore County the within named Joseph Ensor and acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed and the lands bargained sold and conveyed or meant mentioned or intended to be bargained sold and Conveyed in and by the within Deed with their Rights Members and Appurtenances to be the Right and Estate of the within named Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true Intent and Meaning of the same Deed and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided The Words, for Baltimore County Benjamin Rogers being interlined between the first and Second line Recorded this 5th Day of July 1771 Andrew Buchanan X.d This Indenture made the fourth Day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy one Between Charles Carroll Esquire of the City of Annapolis on the one Part and Joseph Ensor of Baltimore County Gentleman of the other part Witnesseth that whereas Charles Carroll Esquire Father of Charles Carroll Party to these Presents and of Daniel Carroll, by his last Will and Testament dated the first Day of December one thousand seven hundred and eighteen bequeathed to his said Sons Charles and Daniel all his Lands in Baltimore County, And whereas the said Daniel Carroll by his last Will and Testament dated the Twelveth Day of April One thousand seven hundred and thirty four authorized Charles Carroll party to these Presents to sell all his Lands which shall not in any one Tract amount to above five hundred acres Now This Indenture further Witnesseth (that) |
